Ciao everyone! As requested, I am starting a series on how to style basics for a seasonless capsule closet.
As you may know, I'm not a fan of the "traditional" capsule closet, and prefer to have a curated closet full of clothes you wear all year round. It's not always possible, but I hope it inspires you to get creative with your basics. Tell me how you style yours! xx

Alyssa, wow this is still so true to style into the 2024 season. Thank you for all your fabulous ideas how to work with your closet. You helped me with my carry on for a 3 week trip to Scotland, Norway, and Germany Sept 2023. Then again for a girls trip to Spain this March. They could not it believe I traveled with just a carry on and created interesting stylistic looks;). I’m heading to Budapest for 3 months for my husbands work. Now I will ship one bag along with my carry on. Still following your formula ideas to make the most out of a little bit larger capsule. This has put so much fun into my style and helps me not be afraid to mix it up some :) Trying new things is fun. 🎉

A T-shirt isn't even really something I wear, but I liked this video a lot. I think the looks with the skirt were probably closest to some ways I might actually wear a T-shirt. I also liked it with any of the pants, nice shoes, and a blazer. Classic. :)

Hi Alyssa, I'm enjoying your videos! I LOVE the patterned jacket you pair with the white jeans. Where did you get it? Wearing a black turtleneck under a tee shirt is a look I like to use, I've also worn a bright tank under a white tee (so you can see a hint of color or pattern underneath), or worn a tee over a dress and tie it at the waist, or wear a crew neck white tee under a shirt with a low neckline, or with the buttons undone halfway, for a look similar to the jumpsuit you wore. I'd like to see more "lookbook" type of videos like this. Thanks for the inspiration!

Alyssa, thanks so much. Do you know what year/collection it's from? And do you know of other great blazers you'd recommend? I've wanted the double breasted Balmain, but can't get that one, now at least. But I have small shoulders and like the shoulder pad look, where the pads go out to make a broader, rather than higher shoulder ..or some of both. Any recommendations? Yes I believe it's Spring 2017, but they normally come out with something similar - do check the Club Monaco Website for this season and winter sale section - I really like the way their blazers fit :) Also check the Real Real for Smythe - Canadian designed and made - THE best fitting blazer you will ever wear! Great solid shoulders but not too crazy :) Hope this helps! xx
