I must say, I've seen your opinion about Neo on twitter and even though I'm big fan of her I've to admit you're right... She doesn't have any backstory... And probably won't be "talking about her past" in the futur... which make her character developpement potentially weak... However I love how Rooster Teeth took up the challenge of making a character that could convey as many emotions without a single word... I love how her fighting style is simple yet skillful... And a lot people lot that charisma of hers... My opinion is that "the unknown" is a big part of what's making her a good character... I liked not knowing whether she was mute or not... I figure her psychopathic tendancies to be "You wanna know how i got those scars" thing, something scary because you cannot understand it... This song proves that creators want to explain her now... And she has some potential to be grown as a good character... Maybe she IS an overated character, she probably is... But being able to get so much fans in so few screentime is not common. Anyway, If you made it that long, thank you for working this fast... (love your work so much)

i never really listened to the song till this video and im glad i did. i never really got into vol 5 music (mainly cause i dont really have much time) and i didnt really get into the volume 6 op. this is the first rwby song in awhile that ive had a chance to listen to and really enjoy.

I love the way you fluctuated the lighting for Neo's portrait near the end there, when she's hidden in the shadows.

Neo fighting Cinder gives this song an unexpectedly entertaining background.

I can't wait for the complete song. I really hope that Neo ends up betraying Cinder, because believing in her makes no sense to me.

Honestly, I don't think Neo and Cinder's re-forged "alliance" is going to last much longer. By all rights, Roman had won the fight against Ruby before just being eaten out of nowhere. Granted, Neo never saw the sudden Gryphon attack but Ruby didn't really have a means of fighting back at that point and I think Neo knows that. Between her and Cinder, one of them is bound to wind up double-crossing the other eventually. It's just a matter of who moves first and when.

Now we have a neo and cinder storyline. Still waiting on the Raven and Tai storyline And the team JNR storyline.

I think that Neo is less mad at Ruby and more so mad at Cinder. Um was Cinder the cause of the outbreak of grimm? If so..its because of Cinder that the Grimm went on a massacare and ended up killing Roman. Although because Ruby turned on her umbrella while on the aircraft thus making Neo fly out in a flock of avian grimms I suppose that I am not sure if Neo even knew how Roman died. Either way Neo ends up blaming Cinder enough to have paid info brokers for her location rather than Ruby (who put Neo's life at risk) most likely because of the overall plan leading to Roman's death. It took Cinder's autumn maiden powers and silver tongue to get Neo on her side albeit reluctantly.

"One" is an anagram for "Neo"

I think the way i see it is that Neo will just be out for revenge for a while, but i feel very confident that we'll get a redemption arc in the future cos she's got way too much potential but really short term goals now, as she'll need something she could do after taking revenge, i think she'll betray cinder with the intention of killing her with the help of the other but plan to kill Ruby and when she sticks with the group for a while she'll change. That's what i think and hope, cos i wanna see badass avenger Neo, but also Neo on the good side eventually

lol i figured when trying to find this song it would be called retribution XD not only because the beginning but because of what the song is about but i guess one thing also makes sense the lyrics we do hear and the fact she felt this way enough to fight and try to kill cinder... makes me question what the rest of the song being hid from us talks about like maybe... neo planning to backstab her? i can only hope... because right now the fact she accepted cinders proposal without any resistance whatsoever and the fact this song plays right before is sketchy

Neo may be a neutral party in the main story but it's obvious from this song that her main target is still cinder. I am going to love watching her betray her at the worst possible moment cause let be honest Cider is not in top form and is severly out matched if she continues down this path she will die unless if that fan theory about her now being immortal comes true.

I Like Neo's return , is what the animation team needed... A character that doesn't talk and fights using only martial arts... No Magic ,No overuse of Semblance, just Her and Her Parasol... She's the living embodiment of "Show , Don't Tell "

So Neo blames Cinder for Roman's death. The song hints at what was already implied, that Roman and Neo were friends. While Cinder coerced Neo into working with her to kill Ruby at the moment, I'm thinking that Neo is going to turn on Cinder the moment it's convenient. Sure Cinder says that it's Ruby's fault Roman is dead. It's Cinder, think Neo believes her? No rational person should ever trust Cinder.

This song is most likely about Neo being sad about Roman's death and wanting to get revenge from Cinder and/or Ruby for Roman's death after got eaten by a grimm. Look at the lyrics especially the "Gone's the life, That he gave, Now revenge is all I crave" And "I had one thing, And you've taken it from me, A single light, A single friend, But you've made that end" Gosh reading these sentences made me tear up a little. You can see how she really really sad about Roman's death. Roman really does meant a lot for her. He is more than a boss for her. And I can feel the rage of Neo in the song. She is craving revenge especially from Cinder because (duh) she is the one of the main cause for the Fall of Beacon. And for Ruby I still don't know about that yet but we'll see. Now I'm just hype to see the backstory for Neo and Roman.

SPOILERS ? The song remembers me of "Die" from Volume 2. Backstory from chapter 3 made me realize how funny it is, that most songs of RWBY have lyrics that can be interpreted differently depending of the character(s) you imagine "singing" it. So now, I don't see anymore "Die" as a song from Team RWBY, but maybe from Neo and Roman, if we suppose they were something like brother and sister formerly living in Brunswick Farm. "It was just fine, we lived in peace Looked to a happy ending" [...]

There's two likely possibilities out of the future. Either Neo learns the truth and betrays Cinder and Salem for revenge, or Cinder successfully redirects her anger towards Ruby, and she ends up blinded by that rage, which ultimately becomes her downfall. I'm calling it now.

This song really shows how important Torchwick was to Neo, he was everything to her. Hell, she calls him her light. If we get Neo and/or Torchwick backstory, it’s gonna hit my emotions like a truck.

I hate that Cinder blames Ruby for Torchwick's death, and that Neo accepts it. CINDER made them take part in the fall of beacon, CINDER made him get captured and put on Ironwood's flagship, CINDER brought all of the Grimm and was SUPPOSED to be 'controlling' them (although we know it was Salem's trick now). Ruby had nothing to do with it apart from opening Neo's umbrella. I really hope that Neo finds out that Torchwick was eaten by Grimm, not killed by Ruby, and turns on Cinder again. Mainly because that fight was awesome and I want more.
