Imagine the EVE Story will go to cinema - telling the advantures, written by the gamers since the beginning. This would be outstanding. Just the rise and downfall of the BOB Empire will give us a great story for years. CCP has that outstanding potential - please dont waste it!!!

Eve Online has come a long way with their cinematic trailers. This is by far the best yet!

These guys put together some of the best trailers bar none.

If you want to read about the birth of the templars, then pick up EVE: Templar One by Tony Gonzales. It continues from his novel Empyrean Age, and is a fantastic read.

Dust514 will have a level of immersion and customization never seen before in a fps game. The connection with the eve universe makes it epic in scale and interaction. Ccp has just taken it to the next level with this trailer!!

To true there are alot of things to base it on bother past, present and future. I have been playing eve for a few years and it never ceases to amaze me with it depth and the fact that it never stops growing. On a side note me and some mates have been talking about about how there should a daily scope news broadcast the few they have made are really good, and there is no end to the news potential in eve.

5 years ago I was one of the little kids in EVE that has no other friends playing and thus is very lost and lonely in the universe of EVE. after playing for 1 year I just felt too frustrated and quit.(was blocked by school boarding house anyway) But not a day did I forget about eve, I always watch the newest trailers n stuff... If only I hv friends that will play this with me

This is an awesome idea. I would also like to submit this idea. At space stations, or at least the most visited if not all of them, instead of having just the captains quarters, have central hubs for all players to go and meet. Also, if you are assaulting a space station, but you need to find something valuable, or you just don't want to blow it up, have players be able to be on your ship in docking tubes, the ship docks, and they fight through the space station and find whatever needs found.

oh i think youre mistaken, I run with a clan in MAG on ps3 and although that game has died down to hundreds(1,000 during weekends sometimes). Most of us are going to be playing this. CCP during fanfest mentioned that this has been in production since 90's when consoles weren't out as popular. With good ads like this that attract over 250,000 views, my hopes are high.

I did a quick search on EVElopedia and I found a few examples of EMP technology. It's mostly projectile ammo and missile components. Perhaps ships and stations are hardened against EMP attacks so their electronic systems don't get ruined but their shielding is still very vulnerable to it.

That's already in the works, according to the keynote. From the sound of it the devs aren't any happier with moon mat distribution than players are.

Pure Awesome

This is basically a short clip of the story "Templar One" by Tony Gonzales, the sequel to his awesome book The Empyrean Age. Follows on the story, and explains Dust514 concept, about Jamyl Sarum pushing the Empyrean tech further so that its not just Capsuleers that are immortal, its ground troops as well. Only cpl of hundred pages into book, but if your an Eve fan its a must read!

Hold onto your hats ladies. It's gunna be a crazy year.

That's a sleeper station. Amarr are allied with Caldari, but there is some backing story in the novel Templar One about how everyone got the tech. Not entirely sure what's going on but there is a great deal of back-room dealing and espionage in eve :)

^ The great thing about EVE is that kids like this are weeded out of the community so quickly you almost never encounter them once your career track gets rolling.

It's not solely Amarr, if you're into reading i recommend reading Templar one since it has the backstory on the immortal soldiers in Dust514

Not to mention there are so many story lines in EVE. I love playing EVE, even though i am still new to it. I think an EVE series could be possible. some ideas that i thought could be a possibility for a good movie (series) would be the Ammar/Minmatar war, the rise of the Gallenti. hell they could probably do anything in EVE. but thats the beauty of EVE, it has endless imagination, inspiration, ideas, and motivation to do what you want to do.

@DEMONLORDOMEGA1 I think thats a cool idea but the thing to remember is it was the jove that gave us the pod tech. the point of this video i think is to show how we found the tech to do the same for people not in pods. but both are equaly intresting.

They should make a movie of this.

There is not any title for this track since it is custom music composed only with the meaning of this trailer. That track was composed by Adam Skorupa and Pawel Blaszczak who were also involved in composing music for few previous EVE's trailers.

my guess is it has to do with integrating play between different types of platforms. I imagine it presents a unique technical challenge

This is related to their book "Templar One." It's a really good book. All the scenes in this video matches the book.

They should do a movie. I would totally watch it.

Its sad, that this vision will never come true.

It's been said that a ship crashing down on planets will be catastrophic. In the novelisation Templar One, it was mentioned that a huge section of the area beyond the mountain which contained the outpost the Minmatars are defending was irradiated when a Revelation-class Dreadnought crash-landed onto the planet, mostly because of the stuff they use for fuel.
