I'm looking at buying an F-type and have test driven the R, it's scary. The V6 is probably the better car for most people, but the R is at least twice as exciting.

I was going to buy the f type R but I totally fell in love with the v8 s and ended up getting that... same exhaust note as the type r as well as the interior for 20k cheaper.... the only difference between the f type r and the ftype v8s is just 50 h.p. thats it.... love this car its been a blast to drive it.

I rented one for two days and wow that exhaust.. for a v6? Sounds way better than most v8s out there it’s insane! I’m wanting to drive the F Type R and see the difference, I want one now!

p.s. and yes, quite possibly the most beautiful car EVER designed (Enzo Ferrari had said that about the E-type when it came out - and when Ferrari calls the design the most beautiful ever, you now you have something going for yourself)... The lines on the F-type are unbelievably beautiful. I particularly love how the line of the trunk lid meets what becomes the top edge of the car over the rear wheels. The way that all comes together in the rear end is amazing. If you were to stand the car on its rear with the nose up, the general outline would almost look like a drop of water.

Good review. I recall watching your 2013 review of your family's 5.0L Jaguar XF. I had one at the time, so it was interesting to watch. Now I have an XFR and love it. It's my 3rd Jag. I had the newer XF until last year and hated it. It was a beautiful car to look at but the interior materials were sub-economical and watered down from what I'd become accustomed to in my older XF.

I have a 2018 F-type as well and live in Connecticut. I will never, ever, EVER put the plate on the front of my car! The dealership in NY made me sign the waiver that I specifically told them not to attach the plate to the front and I could care less... I loved @ 28:55 when you mentioned, "There's the front license plate because it's not on the front of the car because that should be a sin." COULD NOT AGREE WITH YOU MORE!!! If I ever get pulled over for no plate on the front of my car I'd say, "Officer, you and I both know the real crime would be to put a license plate on such a gorgeous front end." If that officer has even an inkling of a car person in them, they'll agree a let me go. 😅

Hood reflection is beautiful. Did you sand the paint to get rid of orange peel? Mine has a lot of orange peel and is slightly blurry.

I've had my 2016 V6 S manual for a couple days now, still learning about it, these are complex cars. The footbox is small, I need narrower shoes. Clutch take-up is a bit hard to master, shifter is OK, not like my ND Miata. It's plenty fast for New Hampshire roads, overkill actually, it needs bigger roads and higher speeds. The metallic black paint looks great when clean but shows all the dirt and dust. But more time is needed.

Well mine lasted 2 days! Bought from a Jaguar main dealership and the differential went. 3 years old 18500miles on the clock. Jaguar warranty wouldn’t cover it as it was such a major issue and the ink wasn’t even dry on the warranty paperwork. Jaguar said it was down to the dealership. Got my money back and fortunately they hadn’t sold my 370z. But now the 370z log book shows an additional owner...me again That was October 2020...hasn’t put me off though.

Sexy AF. The V6 S is probably the best version, in AWD, at least for me.

I want the 6 cylinder with a stick. Not too much computer crap to go wrong. Sounds great .

Looking at this coupe, you can see the lines around the hips way better vs owning the convertible model.

I've got a black XE S, I share your pain on keeping it clean/swirl free... Although looks amazing when clean... Thinking of a British Design Edition V6S F-type in French blue or maybe even an SVR in a few years... Can't decide whether I want AWD or no though, our British roads can be pretty slippy, in spring, autumn and winter so think it's probably worth it... Toying with the idea of an R, but again it's probably overpowered for British roads... V6S sounds awesome too so it's not like its the poor second cousin...

"Leather" is pvc in dash, door cards, armrest. Seat faces and steering wheel are leather.

Those exhaust tips need to be made black ASAP

nice car man. I used to work for JLR and fell in love with the Ftype there. Was debating between a 340 base, and a 981 Cayman. I ended up going with the cayman cuz I love my P Cars, but I gotta say the F type is still one of the most gorgeous cars on the road. Congrats.

Many thanks for the tour. 🙏 Looking to possibly buy one in the spring, which is when I plan to replace my beloved TVR Tuscan with a similarly beautiful and capable exotic. “Smiles per gallon” 🤗 is a perfect description for all such cars, which more than makes up for some of the niggles and idiosyncrasies that come with ownership... Speaking of which, if the battery is hidden away under the hatch, then you definitely DON’T want an electric tailgate... Ask yourself how you’d replace a flat battery in such a case... 🤔🤦🏻‍♂️ I speak from experience... On my Tuscan, the battery lives inaccessibly (without difficulty) inside the front nearside wing, so to mitigate against a flat battery, there’s a charging port under the wing that will accept specialised plug-in cables. I had a set of cables for just such an eventuality... but I inadvertently left them in the trunk... which has an electronic release... 🤷🏻‍♂️ Fortunately, there’s a very fiddly manual workaround for that, but it didn’t make my bad day any better. Sigh. Live and learn... 😂 A Beautiful Cat... 👌😊 I hope that you continue to pamper it, and that it continues to put a smile on your face in return... ✌️😎

Thinking about trading in my 2014 Camaro SS for this car because of the Minnesota winters here are trash, is it reliable how is the maintenance for the Jaguar?

I never understood the all black wheels and trim I think it stands out less without the chrome accents. I like my XF with 4 doors better than the F type coupe looks wise. I have the black on black as well with the premium luxury chrome trim package. Black is the sharpest color but keeping it clean is a full time job.

I just want to know exactly what the S package includes, and how to tell if a car has it.

Hello I have a 2017 jag f type s convertible. Have you had any problems out of your ac? Sometimes my car blows hot air and runs hot. Just got it not even 2 weeks ago from a used certified dealership. 42,000 miles. 1 owner no accident. And also condensation occurs inside the vehicle when it rains outside and i have to wipe the Windows and windshield with paper towels. Please help

This is the car I will buy when I retire in about 30 years from now so gonna have to be secondhand and a whole freaken lot of money for restoration. Cause a jaguar isn't built to last past 5 years without something major needing fixing (daily drivers)

Really like these but im a sedan man and am going with the 510hp v8 xfr. Although there are a few of the f type v8 coupes near me very very affordable, between 20-28k.

I also have a 2015 F-Type S. It's my daily driver and I love driving it. Particularly in a world where automotive design is so generic.

Maan, seeing this video bring me a lot of different emotions. I was going to upgrade my XE to this, but the XE gave me nonstop engine, brake & electrical circuit issues having to even be towed out of a parking lot in the middle of the night one time. Jaguar it was fun while it lasted, but you gave me way too much stress & drama :(

Mine, and so many other's Dream Car. I have a Jaguar XFS, which I love, but the F-Type 3 litre V6S is on the way! I test drove the P450, V8, as well as the V6S. For me, the driving experience was exhilarating in both, but the V6 felt lighter and more nimble. However, what brilliant drives! It is this video that pushed me to buy an F-Type. Thank you. I love the black on black on black look. Beautiful.

FYI...the center console and the doors are not leather in your car. Not sure about the dashboard.

Two weeks ago, I went in to get a 2020 F-type. I ended up getting an XJL!!!! I love coupes. That’s all I get. But the inside of the XJL was immensely better looking and I thought, maybe, I’m too old for a coupe now. Haha. So I got that. But as soon as I have some extra cash, I’ll look into getting an F-type too.

Great review, but you are a little hard on the body work that was done, you could barley see that it was repaired, so how much better a job wouldyou expect?

First, you did the best you could do. I hope you read this. It's English. I know the owner is East Indian. Nobody Else would risk a lot of money to compete with Porsche. I am 65 years old and bot my first sports car when in College. I hope you know this cat it was a 1973 and 1/2 Triumuph GT6 - It was white and had a in line six cylinder motor. I have read English and American Car magazines since I was 15 years old. I have chosen used hish end sports all my life. And, I had to have an English ( designed and built in England ) sports car. I just Bought one and have not picked it up. I had to find an honest car salesmen. You made the best purchase of your life, in my opinion. I cannot WAIT to pick up my car. Mine is a roadster. I still think it's the BEST looking ROADSTER. It has no trunk space. All my other sports cars have been GERMAN. I admire what the GERMANS can do.

get michelin A/S 3 + tires and you'll be good to go. Best in wet and dry as well as some snow. Good to go in cold weather too...hence to "A/S" which is "All season". I just put some on my BMW M4 and will never go back to summer only tires. the PS4 michelins are summer only and will not perform well in the cold or as well in the wet. PS4s make sense if you plan on tracking the car but i assume you wont be so just get the michelin AS 3+ tires...I promise you won't regret it!

I can't stand that they started only putting the Jaguar face. I love when they have the leaping Jaguar on the hood of the car, Like my 05 Jag. It just looks so much better to me, but I guess that's just my opinion

Doesn't need reupholstering in future, just needs treating. Treated properly, leather will last way longer than anyones lifetime.
