I'm leaning toward putting the Flex Z on the wish list for my Z32. I like the OEM ride, but it just needs to be a little lower to the ground. 1" drop would be perfect. Back in the day, I had Super Street coilovers on an Integra GSR - very good performers!
I’m loving my z32 already low so be careful!!! Any lower will cause you to have a heart attack for any curb or speed bump and I mean any size. I learned the hard way. I recommend stock height to above headaches.
This couldn't come at a better time! I've been looking at coilovers for weeks for my RSX DD. Stuck on Tein Flex Z (remote adjusting on the fly sounds nice), BC BR or K-tuned K1...doh! Out of respect for your business I won't mention where I can find them for roughly $200 cheaper on all of them though. :/ Help a brotha out? Wanna send me all three & I'll do a detailed comparison right up and video.
I bought the Street Basis Z because I was broke and I was pretty surprised. They aren’t very stiff and sure as hell go down on highway dips, but if you’re looking for an OEM+ sort of feel without shaking your spine out, you can’t go wrong with those. Just don’t forget to buy top mounts, I added 3 hours to my install because I had to pull my old ones off
I run the Flex A on my 2018 STI. It has camber adjustment and hydraulic bump stop and I think they are great for a street car. Adjust them soft and it’s more comfortable than stock. Adjust stiff and they will spank a tight mountain road.👍
The flex A's are for rally. I wanted to know what all the options were about and that's what I found. Crazy, I wouldn't think about rally coilovers but it's good that you like them
Turner sway bar end links are the best around. Dual adjustability and every single size range is there. They are beefy AF too. When lowering a 335i you need longer front end links and they are nearly a foot long. No problems. Ever.
I ran a set of Tein lowering springs for my 03 Altima, loved the ride and look. Now years later I'm looking for my first set of Coils on my 15 Si, thank you for a review that took a long time to do instead of just after purchase
BIG JDM I’m running whatever they came on the 10k front and 8k rear and haven’t changed/altered them in any way and compared to stock it feels similar in a way that it absorbs bumps, and overall good choice 👍
I have a 10th gen si so I'm pretty limited on coilovers because I need something that will bypass the ads. I was going back and forth between hks and tein. I'm happy I found this video to help solidify my choice with tein. Hks is just to much money for me to justify right now so I will be ordering flex z's here soon
so when changing sway bar end links just use a pair of vice grips on the rubber piece to stop it from spinning, a whole lot easier than messing with allen keys and wrenches and lets you use an impact with a socket on the bolt
Question for Gels. Do you notice some noise from the Flex Z Coilovers when driving over rough road? It's not all the time, but I do notice it. I have the flex z's on my 2016 honda civic and the ride quality Is awesome, handles well, and I love all the adjustability that comes with the Tein flex z system. I'm not complaining, it's just something that I've noticed. I was just wondering if anyone else has noticed it. I work in automotive the automotive industry, so I imagine that the noise may be because of all the adjustability and moving parts that come with this system. Definitely recommend this system to anyone looking to lower the ride.
Thank you for doing this video. I have to replace the coilovers on my car and I've been dreading it because I'm anticipating a price around $1500. I'm very much considering something like what you're running on your frs. Comfort is #1 priority. I went too firm on the suspension with the last car I owned and regretted it ever since. So does my back lol
Thinking of putting these on my 93 RX7. It's street driven with quite a bit of highway travel. Don't want to lower it much, if any. Sounds like a good choice for that. Do you have any other thoughts on this?
Every video from Fitmemt Industries its always “wheels tires and suspension” “ Don’t forget wheels tires and suspension” “Oh yeah did I forget to mention wheels tires and suspension” They act like they’re trying to sell this stuff
Threw these on my is they are great gonna go with the mono next. Then recommends every 36k to cha ge them out, and I hit the canyons pretty often so itll be coming up soon, they seem to have a little more bounce to them coming up on 28k, I figured there just really broken in so just tightened up the damping a bit.
I could be just experiencing this because I upgraded the already pretty great stock suspension of my ap1 s2000, but I installed the flex z suspension on my car about 4 months ago and have been nothing but dissatisfied with them. In all honestly I hate them on my car because it doesn’t even feel like an s2000 anymore. I’m lucky because it’s not my daily anymore because it damn near made the car undrivable on these crappy Memphis roads, especially at higher speeds. The ONLY thing these coilovers did was make my car look a lot better than stock. In every other way the car is worse than before and if it were to hit the track I know it would hit worse times as well. Anyway I’m just posting this to make sure no one else gets roped into the wrong set like I did. I always hated the people that said this when I was researching for these parts but suspension is a huge part of the feel of your car and In this case like many others I’ve learned yet again that you get what you pay for. I wish I would have saved a little more and bought the tier above or really done this right and saved up twice as much got some fortune autos, kw, or even some Bc’s. No hate, just my 2 cents
You're doing the link pins the hard way. You just use a rattle gun. Spray on some wd40. Rattle them off, then rattle them back on. Unless the ball joint is badly worn, in which case they need replacing anyway.
Hey Fitment Industries, are the HKS Hipermax IV GT 20Spec significantly better than the TEIN Flex Z / Flex A? I believe they are monotube, so maybe a better comparison is the TEIN Mono Sport?
I know for the street basis z you need to get new top mounts, or remove them from your old one, I want to go down the route of getting new ones so my question is, should I get oem top mounts or a certain aftermarket one
I have street advance z on my 98 impreza 2.5rs that came on the car when bought, I like them but I hate that changing height also messes with how the coilover feels so I'll probably get different ones later on.
i need a more Drift/Track Coilover for this Price Vmaxx ? Maxpeeding ? Or Tein is good for this ? ( i tried the Basic Street it was not that stiff to the rear on a NA Miata, i have the NB )
I keep hearing you have to use the Allen wrench for the sway link, but my buddy and I changed his springs for Tein's on his 2019 86 TRD and we just used a 17 mm on it and it came off fine. Did they change it just for that car, or is it bc its brand new?
Looking for a set of coilovers for my 2007 Toyota Auris (E15)1.4 D-4D 90hp european model with adjustemnts hard and soft ! EDFC and I think a Flex A would be good ? correct me if i am wrong!???
you sell these from your store TEIN-VSSB6-C1SS3. Are they made for american roads or all sets made the same ie spring rate etc. I believe they're 7/6kg F/R ? Thanks !
Also, even if a person has the ability, and tools, sometimes we need to find a garage that would be OK working on modified cars or to go ahead and modify car. Any advice in finding a Mechanic OK with doing this (I know some garages that don't even like working on older cars)
I just got a question, do Tein coilovers work on any vehicle out here, like a European vehicle perhaps, got a 1996 306, just wondering if it will work on it?
How good do these work? I got the pro kit eibach lowering springs and shocks And I only Laura my car 1.2 inches in the front and 1.3 inches in the back and the ride is pretty good but over bumps and bumpy roads it does not ride good. I feel like eibach is a big company they should make a better products😡😡especially only about an inch and a quarter lowered and over bumps and bumpy the ride is not good that’s pretty sad. So again how good are these Tein coil overs I have a 2012 charger SXT. I just want an inch and a quarter lowered Front and back with a good ride even over bumpy roads.
Got the tein flex z on my is300 sportcross 6 year later and 120 000km later i sell the car and need to temove it (the New owner want oem car ) The coilover doesn't leak , or get any Bad sound I just put them for sale
Does anyone have a good ride height recommendation for a 2015 honda accord daily driver? Looking to lower it just enough to have a after market look but not too much where I have to consider damage risks
Nothing from Tein sadly! However I have some other options that do fit your ride! --> www.fitmentindustries.com/store/suspension?year=2019&make=Toyota&model=Camry&trim=LE
