I just bought one of these on eBay. I love your videos because you're just such a cheerful wet shaver, your facial expressions while lathering your face and shaving are priceless, you review every single razor extremely well and you're not condescending toward your viewers. You also come off as a genuinely nice guy.

Great video and shave Mark! I did try all three models for eight bucks deal and really enjoyed the shaves. When the Core dropped to 19.95 I picked one up for travel. As a bonus the blades fit my AutoStrop collection well 🙂

I wish! Lol. I sent all three back per the agreement. They gave me a generous e-coupon to put towards my order, but when they dropped the price it seemed like a great deal for a traveling razor.

Haha, I just got a deal on the OneBlade Genesis, and found this place. Knew I was in the right spot when I seen the bald head and the passion. Thanks it really helped me a lot since I'm used to the 13 blade Harry's which I just junked.

After watching your video I went and ordered one at the price you mentioned of $19.95 with 10 blades. I believe that is a good deal for a brand new razor even if it is of special plastic. Some times I buy used razors for more than $19.95. Shipping to Canada is just under $5.00 US and that just blows me a way. In Canada shipping is just to much and in the USA you fellows get a good deal. Thanks for the information and I have become a razor nerd possibly. I have a large collection of vintage SE razors and they are great to shave with and now I have a new one on it's way. Have some great shaves!

Great review and shave Mark. I love the looks and function of this razor. However, the proprietary blades keep me on the sidelines. Hopefully, Oneblade in the future will design a razor offering blades more affordable and with more options.

Brian, I recently wrote OneBlade about the blades and the proprietary question. They emailed me back the following: "Hi Mark, "The FHS-10 from Feather blades have been around long before OneBlade. We spent about two years during our design phases testing blades and found the FHS-10 to be the best there is. The OneBlade line of razors does work exclusively with the FHS-10 blades. " Yes, I agree that it'd be nice tot have some variety in blades.:) However, the Feather blade works so well, it's nice not to have to hunt around for an agreeable blade for this razor. The Feather blade just works.:) And works wonderfully well.:)

I got a kick out of 'your going to want this in your razor collection' I don't want to collect razors like they are watches. I want one razor that does what it does in a simple way. But -- hey, you do a GREAT job in the video and I actually enjoyed it quite a bit. Thanks for taking the time!

Hey Mark! Thanks for the info! I didn't get a good shave from my One Blade core razor, but I will try your technique! AND just FYI, Gillette is releasing it's first DE razor in over 30 years!! You can preorder on Amazon!! It runs for $34 plus shipping. The case looks like the vintage Aristocrats. Order quickly though due to limited quantities. Kensurfs just ran a video on it! You gotta wait for the sales....got a Hybrid last week for $90some. It's really nice, simple to load and didn't cut myself on the first shave (unlike the Supply Co.).

So are you saying these cannot be packed in a suitcase for air travel at all? or do you mean as a carry on? I mean it's obvious that you can't carry blades on a plane. lol.

I have that razor now too, loan from a FB Group friend. I watched the original videos from oneblade and they don´t say use the pivot. They say if you use too much pressure the pivot will protect you from getting razor burn. SO my understanding is if you use it, you made something wrong ;-) I used the razor only one time now, without pivot, and it gave me a nice BBS shave. I got a closer shave on my trouble spots but worse shave (not clean) on my chin. But it was only one shave so... ;-)

Jens, this is the OneBlade Core razor. It's a bit lighter in weight and has the plastic razor head. Because of these factors, you do need to use a bit of pressure to engage the pivot. As I mentioned in the video, the Oneblade Genesis razor and the OneBlade Hybrid razor are heaver and have stainless steel razor heads. My guess is, due to the added weight and SS razor head, you do not need to use much pressure all. The weight of the razor naturally engages the pivot. With the Core, as Steve Hardy and I both showed, you need ot use just A LITTLE BIT of pressure to engage the pivoting action of the razor head.:) When I did, it made all the difference and gave me a wonderful shave.:)

@@MarkSzorady ah, ok, i see. Maybe the videos are for the other Oneblade razors. I was only a little confused that the company which build it says don't use the pivot it's only for protecting you... Don't missunderstand me, the one time I used it it was really a great shave ! Thanks for the answer and explaining!😁

It's an interesting product. And, I would guess a good buy for somebody who wants to abandon cartridge, or electric shaving. However, for those who already DE shave I wonder if it's a strong proposition? Here in the UK ebay have 100 FHS-10 blades for (gulp!) £68.99. 100 Wilkinson Sword blades (one of the better DE blades I think we could agree) are £19.29 (and where I buy mine, £13.49). So, at least over 3.5 times as expensive for the only blade that will fit this razor?! Therefore, for somebody who has mastered DE shaving I doubt they would want to learn a new technique and have the extra expense of this razor and blade combination. I suppose though, in fairness, it would be a good buy for occasional use where one wants a quicker, more forgiving shave when one is in a hurry? Funny, I was only wondering last night why nobody has put a pivoting head on a DE razor and now I see they almost have! :-) By the way Mark, perhaps you could consider going back to the wider view for your videos? There was a lot of compensation from the camera when you moved (light image/darker image) which was a bit distracting.

Thanks for the comments regarding the OneBlade.:) I apologize for the light and dark. When I shoot in this room it is a bit more compact so I can't really back away form the camera much. Next time, I'l try to lock the exposure so it doesn't fluctuate. I've done this in the past and it helps.:)

Sinatra Lennon used this one blade razor and he said you can only get 2 shaves with those feather blades.

One more thing, Mark. Brian of Executuve shaving took on 'sentire range of Oneblade, fm top expensive to cheap (49,95). I wonder what he's saying abt Oneblade now direct offering 19,95... A sharp decline in stocked razors.

I've done one head shave and plan to do another on camera. As i recall, it worked well.:) The pivoting head really helped a great deal. Even though it's been about a week or so, I don't recall any negatives.

@@billpickle4412 I need to clarify my previous answer. I'm using a OneBlade Core razor. This has the same handle as the OneBlade Hybrid, but with a razor head made from Enginer-Grade Tritan Polymer. While it gives a good shave, I'd imagine that the Genesis (or Hybrid) would be even better due to having a stainless steel razor head.

Wow, at 19.95 there's is no reason to not buy the Oneblade. I was one of the 1st buyers of the Genesis (steel) at $299, but nvr went warm with it. It stayed more in the den than shaving. Finally I sold it to Brian of Executive Shaving. But at 19.95 for the plastic, its worth it. Remember it gave the best SE shaves, compared to otherts. Cheers.

Good shave but don't think you will get much more than 4 shaves per blade and only one choice of blade and use a very slippery soap or you will pay the burn.

I hate my OneBlade Core. As soon as I use up the 10 overpriced blades, I’m going back to a cartridge razor. Nowhere close to living up to the hype, IMHO.
