Personally I’m an iPad Pro user and currently have the M2 12.9 and love it, however it comes at a very premium price. The One Plus certainly looks like a very capable tablet at a really decent price even with the added cost of the accessories you reviewed with it. I really appreciate the time and effort you take to give consumers an unbiased and intelligent look at other tablets than just iPad or Samsung. Again, thanks again and excellent job as usual.
Love that you continue to showcase other products in addition to Apple’s lineup. Looks like a decent tablet for a first attempt from OnePlus. (I know not everyone likes this brand - but that could be said about any company out there) Definitely appreciate that you took your time with it - even during the recording with the walk-around of settings, performance, game testing, and daily-use feel. We’ll definitely add your RU-vid link to this video in our next episode. Certainly a review worth checking out for those in the market for an Android tablet.
Thank you for the introduction to this pad. Interesting to know about. I am very deep into the Apple eco system, but it’s always great to know what’s out there.
I know this other job opportunity is probably just what I need and will improve, not only my pay cheque, but also my work life balance; but, I'm just going to stick with the job I got.
@@odeiasante Dude. My iPad struggles to sync with iMessage properly. The whole Apple "ecosystem" is barely adequate. I don't use Apple services on my MBP or my iPad. I almost always use alternatives because they're almost always better. For the record, I had to get an iPad for school purposes, and I bought my MBP in 2015 to try something different. My next tablet will not be an iPad, and my next laptop/computer will not be an Apple product. I look forward to going back to Windows.
Looks very similar to iPadPro and Magic Keyboard, I bet the lawyers at Apple were busy checking patents and stuff I’m sure Apple could have made their prices more competitive, I may have been tempted to buy this a couple of years ago, but have to add I am more than happy with iPadPro after using it everyday for two years
yeah, a rectangle with rounded corners is a marvel of technological achievement which needs to be patented. Ditto for the keyboard - more rounded corner rectangles.
I have had Oneplus phones since the 1, and have been looking for a decent tablet I could root, but with the difficulty of rooting Oneplus phones and keeping them that way after upgrades these days, I imagine this will be the same. I will likely go the Surface route since with Windows no rooting is necessary.
Thanks, Aaron, for the very complete unboxing and review. I will be receiving the pad and accessories in the middle of May. I will be using it for all the Google apps, email, and other things. Hopefully, One Plus will be updating this pad, often.
One thing I love about the OnePlus products is the Red & White theme throughout their packaging, chargers, etc. They really found their niche with that beautiful combo of Red & White. Something about that speaks to me. As for OS, I prefer ColorOS over OxygenOS because it’s more customizable.
Is the charging adapter only included in the USA? So many conflicting reviews/unboxings out there about this. Also would a 120W (non-superVOOC) adapter work as a fast chager with this? Thanks for any replies :)
Was kind of hoping for a Sim Card slot for LTE and maybe 5G. I'm hearing you can use LTE and 5G through a Oneplus phone though. Not sure if it works with just the newer Oneplus phones or all of them though. Was also hoping for Amoled, but I don't know if that's typical at this price point?
Android tablets and phones are like Kim Kardashian. You initially see a "Kim" and think "wow, looks like Kim but this is going to be really different" - you then speak to them (go into settings) and they are basically the millionth clone of Kim Kardashian.
Really? And how can one not apply the same analogy to Apple phones and tablets? iOS is still this clunky, unintuitive, and rudimentary UI that makes even the most simplest tasks difficult. Or, iOS simply doesn't allow you to do the task you want. I have a MBP, an iPad, and I have an iPhone for work. My daily driver is Android, and the Android experience, regardless of the manufacturer, is light years beyond iOS. It's honestly an almost objective truth at this point. Notifications on iOS are basically useless. Honestly, notifications are objectively terrible on iOS. Even basic tasks like attaching a photo or file to an email is excruciatingly painful and unintuitive. Virtually everyone one of my coworkers doesn't realize that you can attach photos or files from within the email. I eventually figured it out because I have more experience with technology, but why Apple chooses not to simply have a paperclip icon like EVERY other email app is beyond me. It's typical form over function. And I wouldn't even call it form over function. It's just dumb. And then try removing photos from the email. Still haven't figured that one out. On Android there's no guessing. And the lack of a back gesture, or a consistent back button. I'm sorry, but Android is just a better experience. I recommend Android to my mom and she loves it because how easy to use it is.
@@Nothing-kr5hn Oops. I gave my post a quick check, but I didn't see the word used. I'll just have to leave it as is. Unless this is a joke that is so clever that it defeats itself.
I've got an iPad pro and this and I honestly think the OnePlus has a better picture and better blacks than the mini led iPad, surprising for an LCD display
OnePlus like to gimp performance to save battery life. Then again The apple iPad is using M2 SoC this is desktop class SoC nothing else comes close to it in this segment.
Looks ok, I would appreciate even lower price (Apple pricing is killing me, Tablet, keyboard, stylus Apple is definitely not comparable), better availability in Europe, and higher storage option (512GB for sane price). As a study device, annotating documents etc could be good option.
Great tablet overall at it's price point to be honest. However, the performance disparity between the OnePlus and iPad is huge. You won't notice it on now, but overtime I definitely think it's going to slow down significantly. Especially once newer updates arrive or new features get introduced.
Even the iPad does the same thing I'm talking about the reality of the experience I have the iPad 6th 2018 and the performance slowed down until it stopped while my phone with the weakest processor from Huawei continued normally even though I bought them in the same year
It's not weak...it's plenty powerful.. Dimensity 9000 is a flagship processor for mobile platform It's unfair to compare a desktop chipset like M1 to a mobile SoC
Actually, I just purchased this pad a couple of days ago and I love it. However, I made the mistake of accidentally deleting the notes application. Perhaps, if you or anyone else who is reading this can check the device and tell me which notes application came pre installed I'd appreciate it. If anyone knows, please reply to this.
@@nitesh4541 I appreciate that. However, I already figured it out and re-established the factory application. It was in the recovery system apps under the application section in the settings menu.
7 days later .... STILL waiting for ANY reaction.... hello any comment zollotech on this ?. Your youtube channel was recommened as you do check isdues like PWM so can ypu give your feedback on follwing i posted yesterday? on notebookcheck they mention there is screen flickering at 60Hz, not PWM but still screen flickering so not sure i will buy this...Will this cause eyestrsin headaches etc? No sdcard reader ... Otherwise love the 7 5 ratio
I don’t see another comment from you, but this tablet caused me no eye strain. The camera in slo-mo did not pick up the flicker from the backlight at all. While I believe notebookcheck results I don’t think people who are sensitive to PWM would notice it. However you can always return it typically if it causes you an issue.
There is no originality in their software OS, they just copied Apple and called it a day 👎🏻, for android go Samsungs ONEUI or Googles vanilla OS, otherwise iPad is the way.
Can someone talk to Apple about building the pedometer in a watch face for people to see the number of steps they’ve taken without having to scroll through their entire activity feed.
This tablet is so stupid, why would they put the camera on the centre of the back ? Instead of putting it on the corner, like any other normal practical tablet that is to use to pictures.
You are wrong, the processor is considered a competitor to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, and most tablets at this price also contain an LCD screen even Apple
