Jeff McCosker gives an extremely detailed tutorial on the removal and installation of your Onewheel griptape. Get your TFL Grip here: thefloat.life/p...
Hi Jeff, just received my Grip pad tape from you today . Thank you, I absolutely love this TFL Grip Tape ....makes a night and day difference. Even though I have a Pint your tutorial was extremely helpful, and I was able to execute the install without any issues . Love your videos ! Thanks again.
Thanks for the awesome video! Just purchased a set of TFL griptape to replace my stock griptape which is peeling up at the edges on the back footpad. Probably going to wait to replace my sensor footpad griptape until it's absolutely necessary.
Just got a Kush Nug Hi for my Pint and my front grip tape was so gross from dirt and crud I just had to get it matching. Followed this step by step and had no issues.
Hi Jeff! Unfortunately I went to change my grip tape before I saw this tutorial and did indeed pull the plastic cover off of the front foot sensor 😖- even tore a little of the bottoms corner. Then I saw this video and was certain I had broken my sensor. However I put it back in the correct position as best I could And then did the test as you demonstrated at the beginning of this video, then went out and rode it and everything seems to be working… Miraculously. Wanted to get your professional opinion and find out if you think I should go ahead and ride it? Or replace the front foot pad with a new sensor? Am I at risk of an accident from malfunction?
@@TheFloatLife I found a used footpad/sensor that I guy is parting out from an old Onewheel Plus--but I have an XR. Would that be a good solution--do those last for a long time? Or is it better to buy a new one?
Hey Jeff, nice video! I’ve noticed my grip tape slipping forward on the front. It looks like there are 2 layers of plastic underneath the grip and the top layer of plastic is slipping with the tape? Have you seen this before? Thanks man! 🤙🏻
Nice clear instructional video Jeff. If I worked on my OW on my dining room table, my wife would kill me! Raequel must be a very understanding partner! Keep up with the cool OW accessories.
Hey folks, we love and appreciate the creative energy out there. Just a note, removing your grip tape can (and frequently does) cause all kinds of issues with your footpad sensors. If you're interested in switching grip tape, go for it, just be aware that if you have issues with your sense pad we can't fix it under warranty. Ok, done with the lecture, now go have fun out there :) Peace, Love, Wheel.
I'm thinking low heat setting/distance from that hair dryer and a bit more patience, making sure to peel as back low to the pad rather than upwards to much. Not sure about the sand down around the edges after though, that's gotta leave the wood bare if ridden in rain. A bit of varnish would sort and seal that though, but why not just cover it will a piece of old jean fabric (or something similar) and give it a good round-about thumb press, or even just pushing down and away with the toe of your skate shoe, even just with your hand in it!
@Onewheel I really appreciate you coming here to share this information - super responsible. Could you please do the same on your own community forum? There seems to be a vast misunderstanding about this because modding and accessorizing are highly promoted. Also, registration to your community forum is near impossible because no one is moving past the "moderator approval" stage. Thank you for all your hard work and wonderful products! :)
I think it's terrible (and wasteful) not being able to purchase a front foot pad without also buying the rear. You really need an option to purchase JUST the front.
I wish I was directed to this before I put on my front foot pad grip tape when I got my Kush foot pad. I had one piece of grip tape to get it right and I applied it while the sensor was still warm. I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and drop $90 to replace my front foot pad on my Pint now.
haha I was messing with my board and put my hand on it to level it out like you did. It took off flying at about 9 mph and slammed into my booth seat in my kitchen. It ended up dragging my thumb and trapping it between the wheel and the board... Luckily i got it out easy and got away with only a bruise and little skin tear.
Thanks for your video..What does the front for plate sensor plastic cover look like to ensure I distinguish it from the stock grip tape and ensure I do not touch it when removing the front foot plate stock grip tape? (Couldn't see in this video as a close up shot wasn't shown).. (I have a +XR)..Thank you
Thanks for the tutorial, late coming to this party, but time to change the grip tape.... Love the sped up music mix !!!.... and the typo at the end www.thefoat.life.... ;) TFL Rules... :)
