Hey Mario. I found your channel recently (while searching for DIY builds) and have been going through your back catalogue of videos. I really appreciate your balanced and honest reviews of everything. It is clear that you really like the onewheel boards, but also clear that you call FM on their shenanigans. So thank you.

So it was a firmware issue. Thats good. The fact that you have the same footpad and the ghosting went away is reassuring. I REALLY want this board to work when I eventually get one. They did a good job listening to the community. Now, all we need is replaceable FM batteries. The onewheel will be perfect after that.

I think it's very important that you mentioned the fact that you had not received a new footpad yet and the firmware update alone seemed to have fixed the ghosting issues. I agree with the inconsitency this brings up in their initial response and handling of the issue. I REALLY hope that this firmware update does not just sate the community to forgetting about the right to repair conversation that helped to become so headstrong thanks to you, Louis, and the SLS network.

I feel like when I step up onto the wheel that the activation and the transition to takeover by the wheel is more solid. Previously the wheel felt like there was a second there when the wheel was freewheeling before motor takeover.

I was considering getting the onewheel gt but afterthe bms bullshit, I went for the pint x, I know how to repair that one

I think ive found a bug, whenever i go to turn the lights on the board all the way up. When i do it the brightness peaks letting u view the setting without having to be on the board like normal, then when im back on the board the lights trigger like normal but are not as bright as when applying setting. I can turn them back up when im on the board but after switching riding directions a couple times they go back down. Just a touch not all the way to the resting brightness, anyone else experience this?

Yo kiil guards just made a thing called cliff hangers and they extent the foot area on the pint / pint x. Could you review them?

I’m buying a One wheel for commuting, nothing crazy just 5 miles of side walk. I’m wondering if I should go for the XR or GT or if maybe even a pint X. From what I hear the XR is easier to learn on and you can replace everything on it. Vs the pint is simply not as strong if I wanted to grow with it and do more eventually, and the GT has all the issue plus it’s hard to change anything on it. Wondering if you could guide me with some advice. I’m commuting 5 days a week so I don’t want to cheap out too bad but if the XR or the GT is actually worth it.

Still no ghosting issues since the update?

I'm freaking loving the update!!!🤙🏼 I can maintain 18 to 20 mph with ease. And feel very comfortable at those speeds... Like I can hit some shit and the board will not drop nose. Feels amazing. Yes there's a long road ahead still... But this is def step in the right direction.

So I have a weird one. Sent GT back to Fm for multiple issues? Ghosting as one of them. Got it back then the update came and it was all working great until Saturday it ghosted on me. So new footpad ghosted after update. Makes me wish I had the original footpad on it. Maybe the problem is the new footpad. Still waiting on FM to respond.

Treaded tire worth it when it comes to grip? I ride 75% concrete/brick. Not many trails here.

What kind of weather/temperature conditions were you in when it ghosted? I've been seeing a lot of theories it can result from freezing weather and the grip tape shrinking some

My footpad was perfect before the update. Now my board keeps shutting off when I'm going slow.

Does the GT or the XR feel more stable to you when comparing both with stock tires?

Mine ghosted on me the very same day after i updated firmware. It was my first ghost. They sent me a new footpad, and so far no ghosting on the new pad.

I’ve noticed with the update, my board also doesn’t free roll forever now. My board used to role up to 15 ft before motor brake, especially downhill. Now it goes only about 3-4 foot. I’ve never had mine ghost, but people thought it was because of how far it would roll before braking or losing momentum.

I havent had my GT ghost since the update but I am still waiting for my new front footpad to arrive. My GT still doesnt disengage properly ( I own a XR and the heel off dismount has become something I do w/o even thinking about it) On the GT it doesnt do the heel up dismount barely ever and it isnt resolved for me with the new update although the ghosting hasnrt happened since on my gt ( my GT only Ghosted 2 times also) but I hope the new footpad will fix my issue so I think that maybe some cases as my gt was an earlier model 2nd week of march. I hope they keep making it better but also I hope they change stances on the right to repair issues in the future.

I received my GT 2 days ago. It ghosted on my 3rd or 4th "hop off" dismount. The app shows it to be running 6100. Just fyi!

I totally agree with the riding pint pushback being un-fun. I typically stay in the 16mph range and love it. Although when I ride with my XR riding friend I usually have to push it further to catch up which is irritating

I just purchased a Onewheel GT, which should be arriving soon. I found out too late about its controversies, especially ghosting. I’m very excited yet very skeptical if mine will be a dangerous train wreck, Should be OK, like the company are installing the improvements in their stock.

Need a stable slick tire replacement option ASAP 😔

Canceled my order last week, such a shame FM screwed it up so bad. They will regret what they’ve done when their next monthly profit report comes in. It is going to be a slow painful burnout for this company but they have no one to blame but themselves ✌️I feel sorry for their staff. Imagine having to tell people that you were a part of all this 🤮

Its possible they just continued to learn more about the sensor issue over the previous few weeks as they got the "bad" sensor pads back and that its not them being shifty in anyway

If you couldn't trigger it to ghost on demand before the update, how can you be confident it's fixed now??? It doesn't sound like you had a reliable way to test it. Appreciate the video nonetheless.

I got 22 on my pint and I ended up eating asphalt

I was able to get my pint to 21.1 mph but I almost died when it shut off😂😂

Really too bad there isn’t any product like onewheel out there at all because I love my XR and would love to buy GT but can’t help but feel like there will be 10% reservation because of R2R and other concerns

Most of the ghosting is because dirt or little rocks and debris getting stuck on the footpad and causing the sensor to be engaged

Sounds like they just made a mistake. They thought it was for one reason but it was another. OR they applied this update with the hopes that it it fixes those boards and why not just make those changes to all boards. I like that as soon as my heel comes off, GT go sleepy time.

Man, probably the most negative review I've seen regarding the new firmware. Seriously. You can't tell the difference between the new Flow? Really. Haha. Come on man. Haven't heard anyone say that and it's the only setting I'm riding in now. Love the extra power and much smother power delivery. A lot more control. You even managed to turn the fact your board no longer ghosts into a negative and that's not easy. The best part is us GT owners can do our own review and I'll just say it's night and day difference with the new firmware upgrade. Much better dismounts and engine braking and carving is even better. If anyone's been on the fence to order I wouldn't wait any longer. They really stepped up with this update and brought some of the best riders in the community out to help give them real world feedback and it shows. Cheer up dude! 😂
