What a wealth of information here! Thanks so much. I’ve been a VESC rider for a year now, and I still reference this video to gain a little more knowledge every time.
This area reminds me of Staten island. cool video, thanks for the tips going to try them on my next ride. I've just been really paranoid to ride lately bc I've gained about 30 lbs in the last 3 years and it's affecting my mobility
It would be very appreciated if you just gave it to me I'm not saying you have to but I do need one because my mom said she's getting me one soon and is coming soon I'm going to be in the trip to California
You should NEVER bulk charge lithium ion cells without a BMS, as shown in the video. This is because the cells will become unbalanced, leading to risk of some cells being overcharged. Having said that, "reviving" cells like this, almost never works (the cell usually works poorly afterwards), but even if one is going to do this, it needs to be done per parallel bank eg balance charging and obviously at very low current. The internal impedance needs to be tested during charge-discharge afterwards to see if it is still in spec - this is how you know if there is significant dendrite formation or not. If you have no idea how to test the impedance during the charge-discharge cycle, then you need to hand the pack over to a battery recycler.
Fun Wheel? DIY is it the largest wheeled/ most powerful Vesc/fun wheel/electric adventure vehicle thats currently available? best offroad and up hills.
I have a lacroix nazare lonestar. Unfortunately the company went out of business or they sold the company. I can no longer get parts from them. I have a question. My motor is not working properly. It doesn't spin. They don't have the motor available for me to buy. Can I use a different motor with the one already on my board that works?
Would you be interested in making a Battery for another youtuber? I like that shape and how I could mount it under my solar bike trailer. I need a 48v battery.
what company type of temp sensors did you buy do you have a link and does amazon carry the JST ZPDR-26V-S Connector JST SZPD-002T-P0.3 Crimps @theboardgarage
great video, i want to do one of these myself. Is there a specific Thermistor you used ??? Cant find the part listed or mentioned anywhere. Also do you think the pint can take advantage of the extra amps of a p45b instead???
Hello, I am a onewheel rider living in Manhattan NY and came across your channel.. I found your videos to be very informative and helpful. Thank you for sharing good information, If you ever go on rides with other people or in groups I’d be happy to tag along
I too wear Vans but last year, after 3 years of riding, I picked up a pair of Vans MTE (Made for the Elements) and they are a game changer for comfort as well as much better traction on the board in varying conditions. Only caveat for me is they are a warmer shoe. They breathe well but warmer none the less. Great trade off tho when I'm way more comfortable, less fatigued, and like I said, huge benefit in traction. I mainly ride trails off road and can't imagine wearing another shoe they're that good.
LiPo, Lithium Polymer battery. Generally a high discharge, pouch based battery pack. Usually more fragile and volatile than cylindrical lithium ion or lithium iron phosphate batteries.
I keep my one spectrum g2 3s battery in a commercial grade cell block box .. that was over a 1,000 dollars and also have one cellbock sleeve that was 300 dollars .. the watt hours on all these are for lithium batteries 20 or 50 times the size.. but one can never be to careful
Hey Mario! So, my XR's front led is not working and I just bought a new cable for it. How hard do you consider to be the processo of replacing it? I'm debating doing it myself or spending around 100€ to send the board to the only shop that works on Onewheels here in Portugal. Oh, and thank you so much for all the amazing content here.
Do you use loctite on plastics ? I juste received my board and i dont know if i do use loctite on plastics. I read on reddit, loctite eats plastics. Thanks you
I bought a GT bundle $2850 In June 2023 didn’t like the ride . in October 2023 Installed WTF, rails, lowboy, footpads, (Combined 5/8 of an inch lower ), Goat tire $800 ;( It was a completely different board (and couldn’t ride it enough. And just in case it broke, I wanted back up one wheel Last week April 2024I bought an 2022 XR with 300 miles for $900 on FB . The modded GT is as fun as XR but almost 4 times the $ LOL
the lack of any form of pressure release ports was a clear design oversight that even me after looking into lipo safety for few hours could see seems to me they just bought a fireproof fabric and gave it to a seamstress without any proper technical knowledge or research ;o]]
I traded 2 Pint X’s one with 100 miles and the other with 10. All brand new rail guards and bumpers for a GT with 170 miles. I was more than happy but kinda bummed out since I was able to buy those Pint X’s for $650.00 a piece, don’t think I’ll ever find a price like that again 😅 My current fleet: 1 GT 170 miles 1 Pint X 1800 miles 1 Pint CHI Battery 0 miles 1 Pint 0 miles 1 Pint 500 miles 1 Pint 800 miles
What happens at the charger connector once the battery is connected to it? I believe you get power in its pins as current doesn't care what direction it should be flowing. If that is so, shouldn't I use a diode after the charge connector and if so what type of diode?
