Page 64 of the GT manual: "Never ride your Onewheel GT on inclines or declines with grades steeper than 15%. This may cause the motor and battery to overheat and will also void your warranty." Classic do as I say, not as I do behavior.

Please explain why the GT manual v1.1 page 64 states: "Never ride your Onewheel GT on inclines or declines with grades steeper than 15%. This may cause the motor and battery to overheat and will also void your warranty." You are claiming no warranty was voided in this video yet you are displaying riding up hills with steeper than 15% grades. Is it the act of riding up or down hills with greater than 15% grade that voids the warranty or is it the overheating of the battery and or motor when riding inclines of 15% or greater that voids the warranty. Please be more transparent about this

These videos make me think about a few things. One, I wish I weighed 140lbs and could wear size 4 ladies' pants. Two, I'm amazed that he didn't have to serpentine up the hill. THREE, and the most important thought is, WON"T THIS hill climb void the warranty?

ahhh nice. you can void your warranty and if your board breaks it can still be worked on because you work for FM but as soon as the people who spend a fortune on your products out of there own pocket and ride it up a hill half this grade out warranty is voided. FFM

How to void Your warranty: Tutorial

I heard the ghosting mode can scale that hill rather fast.

Some hill climbing tips I did not see them employ: 1. Don't go straight up, go up it diagonally, and cut back when you reach one side and go diagonally the other direction. This effectively reduces the slope of the hill during most of the climb. 2. When you are cutting back to change your diagonal, that is the most difficult part because you are getting the full effect of the slope, so bend both of your knees at this point to lower your center of gravity, which will help the board for the hardest part. 3. You'll need to raise your center of gravity again before you have to cut back the other way so that you can lower it again. So during each diagonal, straighten your knees a little to raise you center of gravity back up. Be careful and don't do this too fast because raising your center of gravity forces the motor to have to work harder. These tips are increasingly more difficult to do the greater the slope, and sometimes some hills just aren't wide enough. For these, the shown technique is your best bet, which is try to be as even with the board as possible, and avoid hitting any bumps. Anything that requires the motor to surge will likely result in the front contacting the ground, which is much closer to the front of the board just because of the geometry of the slope itself. Thus bringing us to the final tip, sometimes, you just need to get off the board, change it to an elevated front riding profile, and then send it leading up to the hill.

I bought a Pint last Fall. I've loved each and every one of the nearly 1,100 miles I've put on it. The "headlight" failed early on due to a manufacturing defect and needs to be fixed under warranty. I recently ordered a GT. I'm not in love with Future Motion as a company, but regarding the "do as I say and not as a I do" comments, automakers have been advertising their vehicles being used in dangerous or warranty-voiding situations in TV commercials for decades.

It's a shame they all voided their warranties to make this video. I hope they make enough from this video to buy extras lol

This was copied directly from the GT owners manual v1.1 “WARNING: Never ride your Onewheel GT on inclines or declines with grades steeper than 15%. This may cause the motor and battery to overheat and will also void your warranty.” So why would you advertise riding up the steepest hills in San Francisco? Are you purposely trying to get people to void their warranties? Next we’ll see videos of shredding through puddles and saying how water resistant the board is…. Shame on you Future Motion!

Now do the down hill tests! Don't leave those out! That is an equally important test for us to see. The app should have a torque meter so we can see the incline or decline limits of the GT. Those were gnarly hills thanks for showing us!

You guys in marketing seem like really nice guys... However, your company WT actual F! I cancelled my GT order when I found out you have relentlessly and aggressively taken sabotaging your boards to the now ludicrous degree. Can't even unplug the battery, a normal wear component once the board is yours. SMH! Have a good life, VESC rules!

Could you guys just like sell batteries and stuff. We aren't going to stab them with forks. They connect with xt60's (like a quadcopter), super simple. I don't need one yet but I will, and when I do I'd rather not send the whole thing to Cali. So it's aftermarket for me unless you guys offer stock parts. Some people care about their streaks and if they can't do their own repairs, those go away when they send it off to you guys. I realize you can't sell GT batteries because you've designed the GT to be destroyed when the battery is unplugged (that's why I won't buy one), but for the people with xr's, pints and pint x's, give us replacment batteries, bearings, tires, control boads, motors, and rails. Shoot, just sell the whole battery box and or control box as one unit and keep the warranty stickers if you want, give us something. I've been able to buy parts for just about everything else I have ever owned except a onewheel. Sorry for the rant, love the onewheel I just have a thing for fixing my own stuff and it really frustrates me how FM thinks we're incapable of unplugging and plugging in our batteries.

These people are pissing me off. My board ghosted into my garage, barely missing my wife and my mkiv supra. So I contacted them. So they sent me another foot pad and on the second ride I quick stop as I've done for 2k miles on other boards and it jets off into a dam wall bust the rear love hump and scratching the board all up. I was beyond mad. I contacted them again, and the first thing they said is, did you update the firmware? I said yes, and the pads were clean, and I was on road. They basically stopped emailing after that. It's kind of a big fu to me. This is the first onewheel I don't trust or feel safe on around others and my property. If it hits my wife or one of my cars, I will be seeking legal actions. -DSCracing1230 comment on this video that I find extremely relevant and revealing of this company

Does anyone know if one wheel has addressed the ghosting run away issue on these? I want one so bad but want to know one wheel acknowledges and fixed that issue I am seeing everywhere. Would be dope.

One wheel, voids warranty for water ingress, promotes one wheels riding on beach, voids warranty for riding greater than 15 grade, promotes videos of greater than 2 x 15 grade hill climbs

What a lot people complaining about voiding a warranty is.... the FTC does not require any business to provide a written warranty. Nothing. Regardless of product cost. So quit complaining about it and go for a float!

You can make all the videos you want talking up the GT. I own a GT and at 230lbs I can't even ride in grass if it's not perfectly flat. The board is more powerful than a XR but not life changing amounts of power.

Moving to San Francisco this January with my onewheel GT and I’m so pumped!

Really nice example of what the Onewheel GT can currently tackle - if you are light enough! I still feel like it has even more locked up potential that we haven't seen yet... Hoping we get that custom ride mode soon, and maybe an even more powerful ride profile that competes with what we've seen with VESC setups. 🤙🏼

So I noticed with each hill climb, the attempt was always a straight shot up the hill. Guess I'm a little confused on why the carving technique wasn't used or demonstrated for comparison.

This is so hypocritical, in the owners manual it specifically says not to go to a certain incline , except future motion only cares about market sales and advertising, it’s a scam

warranty voided, no steep incline remember as per manual.

I think a lot of factors went into his excess going up those hills. Weight, experience, and knowledge of the Onewheel. I don’t think just anyone could have gone on up the hill.

i love my XR. i just want FM to do better as a company. why make a video about what NOT to do? (going up this steep of a hill will 'void your warranty'.) why not show going DOWN the hills? (the board won't tip back far enough to stop.) how about unplugging the battery and plugging it back in? (oh, that's right - *WE* would have to send it back to get unlocked...) all the community wants, is for you to do better. we love your products. it's not to late to be a good company again. (but it's getting close...)

Congratulations, by going up those hills you have voided your warranty

Had an original shipping date of June 1st. But I received my GT on the 20th and on that same day , I broke my foot trying to lug it home on my Meepo mini 2 ER. Completely rolled my foot inward. Now I have to wait 4-6 weeks while on crutches 🩼, to even hop on the Magnificent GT 😭😭😭🥺

We need a Onewheel GT with replaceable battery, so for on the go. Like the mellow Board.

You would have made it up the first hill if you weren’t riding on a trash tire made out of a hard compound with no grip.

Very impressive. I ordered the GT at launch from the UK and am an older rider and was worried with all the stories of excessive power but can say after 2 weeks that it's the much the best behaved of all my onewheels (XR and Pint). More like the Pint than the XR and all the better for it. I still like the Pint though - lightweight and nimble and great fun though the range a bit limiting.

at 6'4" 235lbs, my GT SCREAMS on hills... but the going down sides. She gives it the ol' college try on the goings ups sides and I appreciate that.

You also were given a few different responses to your "conversation with Kyle" and we haven't heard the answers to those either. The power uphill is amazing. Love my GT, over 800mi so far. Great video. Can you safely ride down the hill? I think it would tail drag down and possibly not be able to slow down or stop. I get your intent was to show the amazing GT power but once you get to the top of the hill you need to go down it. I know there is a "Elevated" mode to help with hill climbing. Should there be a "Dropped" mode for going down steep hills. Also didn't notice what mode you were in, can you clarify.
