I've been asking around and would like to know what PSI your run? I've only had my board for about a week and pavement is buttery smooth at the stock 20PSI but i happened to go into some grass yesterday and it was like I had never ridden! Felt like I was going over boulders instead of grass and it looked to be pretty smooth. Had to give it up pretty quickly as I seemed to have very little control of the board. Any info is greatly apprecated! Thanks for posting all your videos, they are really inspiring to new riders like me!
You can ride a higher psi on pavement. For going off road, reducing the psi helps. You've only had the board for a week, so give yourself some time to gain experience
Thanks for the quick reply! I agree that nothing will replace spending time on the board, I'm doing my best to ride every day and am working on low speed control as much as just cruising and having fun! Thanks again!
Can you tell me if the Burris is as good as the Vega at slow speeds and stopped? I'm thinking of getting one and I already know I probably wouldn't like the Hoosier because its too round.
Katherine Truby it's not as good as the Vega when stopped. All the wider and square profile tires will be the most stable at stop. The 5.5 Burris has a stability that matches the 6.0 Hoosier slick. The 5.5 Hoosier is quite a bit rounder than the Burris. If you're looking for a stable treaded tire at stop, the Hoosier 11x6.5-6 is a better candidate and can fit if inflated below 17psi. The burris can be inflated to higher psi for heavier people and to increase your travel range
Cool, thank you. I guess I'm looking for something at least similar to the vega at slow speeds but with tread and a little softer. Also, I don't want any clearance issues and I noticed that the Burris you tested seemed like a good match.
Katherine Truby unfortunately, I don't know of a tire that's basically a softer treaded Vega. All of these tires will ride differently. Unfortunately, a lot of this is personal preference, which is dependent upon terrain, riding style, body weight, psi, etc... I really like the Burris 5.5, but others would definitely disagree with me. I hope you try at least one other tire and see how much it changes the experience. Good luck!
The burris 11x5.5-6 QRC33 & TX33 are both a much more comfortable ride than the Hoosier 11x5.5-6 D30A. Check my review video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fd4gBV_9pdg.html
