Had that experience just last week with some friends. My Floatwheel, a GT, and GTS hitting some steep hills back to back. Different weights but kept up with each other and had a really good time!

The point is that patent offices grant patents without knowing whether the invention is the actual original. If someone can prove to the patent office there is prior art, the patent will be invalidated. And with regard to each FM parent they claim FW infringed, there exists prior art. It's fairly obvious their parents won't hold up. It's rearguard action to delay competitions entry into market. Which is fair from a business standpoint - but bad from a PR standpoint. Right now, their unchallenged high prices lock people out. Also, dismissing Tony as "Chinese knockoff" is just appalling from a character POV. I'll gladly ride with anyone, but I'll VESC my GT as soon as Tony gets the circuits ready. Competition is good, people. Both on and off the boards. So is mutual respect.
While I fully understand Future Motion's position with the patent infringement, monopolies can't last forever. Largely because monopolies cause stagnation when this incipient sport requires innovation. Regardless of your platform, be safe (ish) and enjoy the ride.
Loved the feel good riding vibes in this vid! However, the clip of mine you showed as b roll over the "quality control is questionable" narrative is taken out of context. The rock getting stuck from nosesliding on the railroad track was a freak accident and has happened to fm onewheels as well. Very rare, but when doing something dumb like kicking up railroad ballast it exponentially increases the likelihood of getting a rock jammed in there. The point of that clip was to demonstrate the ease of right to repair when you damage your board. Also, it would have been nice to see a few more perspectives empathizing with the benefits of competition to balance out the views, such as using Jeff's analogy of Burton's patents and its community back then, along with Luis Rossman's other statements and of Tony's thoughts too to contrast with Kyle's.

Right. Who has the patent for a skateboard? Or snowboard? Such a dumb argument to monopolize a whole sport 🤦🏻♂️ competition is a good thing for the consumer aka all of us
