Thanks for showing off the gameplay. As a legion go owner, this is intriguing to me as the features it has are something I could use. I may wait a little longer before I make another purchase but this is tempting. Also my mom died of cancer about 15 years ago so this hit home. Prayers up for her.
The fact that they offer a keyboard to match their different product sizes is admirable to me. I love the idea of having a small "netbook" that can game. An underserved niche IMO.
Wow, this thing is genuinely awesome. It's like they took the Legion Go as a baseline and improved every little thing about it. I just picked up a second hand Legion Go for less than $400, and I'm liking it very much, but this looks better. Damn.
Yeah it’s definitely like an alternate timeline Legion Go. More ports, bigger battery, great speakers, magnetic keyboard… Only thing I wish it had from the Go is controllers that work independently when detached.
@@megaloth1955definitely, but I was actually surprised how much better it feels compared to the big X1 I think the weight balance and size really helps
Soooo...are we gonna see a video of the ONEXPLAYER X1 Mini with an Occulink connection to the 4060 egpu you have, hmmm? Or any native Occulink connection to a windows handheld device with that 4060 egpu? It would be nice to see the difference between USB4/Thunderbolt and an Occulink connection, to help with my buying choice! 😇
Working on it! The company told me they had some drivers coming that made it even better so I want to be full updated when I put out the video. Stay tuned
My only issues with the mini is the 2242 drive (limited to 2tb max) the oculink port is on the bottom which means you have to lay it down flat which covers the intake, put something underneath to prop it up a bit, put it sideways or get a very specific stand for it. Also you cannot use the occulink while in laptop mode. The 8.8 inch screen is great for a handheld but kinda small for a laptop. Now the X1 is a fair bit bigger, kinda massive for a handheld but manageable. It's a decent size for a small laptop and has a full sized 2280 SSD (up to 8TB) only other issue is where the usb4 ports are placed, both right beside each other and on the same side, and one is unusable while the controllers are attached. All that being said realistically you only need one port for charging, hooking up to an egpu or a dock/hub while in handheld mode.
@@chrisboucher2813 all fair points. I agree that they both appeal to a different person depending on what they need (as all things) I just happen to prefer the X1 mini because Im a handheld guy and mini is better as a handheld. Also, the X1 could never replace my laptop because I use a MacBook pro as my main work laptop (I know it's blasphemy)
@@BarelyAverageDude Ewwww apple lol jk Nah the x1 mini is a better handheld for sure but as a laptop, tablet and handheld I feel like the x1 would be better suited for what they are being marked as a "3 in 1" but the mini is a perfect size for a handheld and the x1 is pretty big. Great video tho my dude keep up the good work 👍
@@chrisboucher2813 lol I don’t want to hear it because I own over 20 windows PCs and only 1 MacBook; I’ve paid my dues 😅🤷🏽♂️ Yeah the X1 is the king of 3in1 The mini is a Handheld that dabbles (and that gets my vote) 😅👍
if it doesnt support 2280 im fine with that i dont plan to use it for that i plan too use it with pcie to thunderbolt5 when it drop just like how people do it with steam deck and strix oculink addon hack
Great video bro. Your friend from Facebook group. Which one is better in performance do you think, One x mini or Legion go? I do have ROG Ally z1 Extreme but i need a device with a large screen such as legion go or One x mini
Another great one my Barely Average Brother! Thoughts and prayers also for the lil miss and her people during this trying time.. Beat the shit outta that punkass cancer thinkin it can just intrude in on ur life without consequences and show it that ur not to be messed with and come back stronger than ever lil miss, u still got a whole lifetime's worth of memories u gotta make after beatin that cancer ass into submission, so continue to fight hard and fight relentlessly lil miss 💪🏼🫶🏼🙏🏼 Regarding future vids, I'd actually really be interested in seeing a video featuring the full sized X1 Intel vs the X1 Mini, showcasing the performance differences/comparisons of various games to see how the intel chip is stacking up in its current state now that it's had some time to mature. I have the intel X1 but not the mini and I'd love to see a video about that if u find u're able/willing to make it Thanks bro and stay up 🫡🤝
@@According2AshShow *it's still horrible compared to AMD.* In some games the 8840u at 15w beats the Intel 155h at 35w! Not only that, there have been about 8-10 driver updates and I'm still seeing some of the same graphical glitches in the same games across all of the updates. This means that in many cases a game may never get fixed. I would NOT recommend Intel right now to anyone! Intel handhelds should be ashamed, because the performance is trash but there was no price benefit for the consumer.
@@According2AshShow link to the video? Cuz I’m not buying it. I’m working on the video vs now and I’m in Hades 2 and at 14w the x1 mini is getting 120fps the X1 intel is at 25w and it’s getting 100-115FPS.
I agree with other comments, fuck cancer. I don't know if I missed it, but being an rog ally x owner how is the battery life? I'm loving the battery life on the ally x!
It’s 1,000 at the cheapest. It’s going to outperform the Legion Go b/c of the extra RAM. There is no reason at that price point to buy this over the 10 inch model b/c at least that device is unique. It’s hard to sell the improvements if you can get a legion go used for 400 or something & the X1 mini runs 1,000-ish. It’s not worth 600 more then a legion go even if it’s got a little more juice. Just pair the Legion with Lossless Scaling & be done with it. I bought a 32 gigs of RAM Aya Neo slide for $750 & it might be my favorite device. No doubt that extra horsepower is nice, but what I bought also has a 2T SSD, & that variation of this X1 mini runs 1,150 at its cheapest. So I got something for 400 less. In short I’m not saying it’s bad but there is no reason to pay that price for that product.
@@edwardlashley3572 it's definitely expensive, but I'm loving it so far. It's much more comfortable as a handheld than the big X1, but it still has the magnetic keyboard and 3-in-in versatility.
They are Hall effect. The original X1 came with regular sticks. Everything else is pretty much the same. You can swap them between devices, but you have to calibrate them because of the difference.
@BarelyAverageDude I just sold all my hand held before they lost value, and I was thinking of getting an Asus ROG Ally X, but I know something better is coming right around the corner. So I've decided to hold off from getting one and wait and see what comes out. That Ayaneo Kun is very nice and expensive. 😉👌
@@PHDdad The X1 mini is undoubtedly way better as a handheld and of course that's my main focus; but if you want something that is closer to replacing a tablet and maybe scratching the laptop category, then the full size X1 may be right for you. I have both and I'm not compelled to pick up the X1 over the X1 Mini but that's because I'm not replacing my iPad or laptop with it. The X1 is a jack of all trades but a master of none. it's not the best tablet or the best laptop or the best handheld, but it's decent at all 3; so if that sounds appealing to you then you already know what to do.
@BarelyAverageDude help me understand I thought the attachable controllers will let me play the game ? Where can I find the wireless controller connector is it a add on that you have to buy
Native landscape = top of the screen is the long side like -> [ ] Native portrait = top of the screen is the narrow side like -> [ ] A desktop monitor or TV is native landscape A smartphone is native portrait When using a native portrait screen in a handheld, the display is rotated by software so that it displays "sideways". For the most part, this is fine, but in certain applications it can cause problems, since the screen is actually in a portrait layout. Especcially in older games, and in certain games like Fortnite when using exclusive fullscreen However, small, native landscape panels are hard to get in the small order quantities the boutique handheld makers like OXP/AyaNeo/GPD need, so mostly they have to use displays made for tablets, which are almost always native portrait
My Friend was going to buy my Xreal Air 2 Pro glasses but he has that Legion Go and it is Native Portrait mode like a tablet so when he try my glasses it would give issues turning the image after while. It is a pain. He ended up not buying them due to this issue.
As well, native landscape displays can have VRR/Freesync. Which is a feature that adjust your screen refresh rate with the fps of your game. It actually makes a huge difference in smoothness and latency
