Only 9 Built: Bristol Fighter 

Sad to see Bristol gone now. I saw one of these for sale a couple of months ago and it sold for almost £200k. Arguably the best car they ever built and definitely the fastest

Fascinating car. The bittersweet irony is, of course, that the development costs for this Fighter model bankrupted the company. They could never sell enough of these to remain a sustainable business. A real shame. Bristol officially offered a Fighter T model with allegedly 1,000 bhp but from all one can gather, not one of this super-powerful Fighter variant was ever made.

If you want to have a car that says it's different it's this one!!

I very nearly sat in the orange one at the FOS... but I didn't. Door was open, guy was friendly. But I didn't have the balls to ask.

Journalist were indeed allowed to test Bristols! Check out 'Bristol Cars: Gold Portfolio' by Brooklands Books (my edition is something like 300 pages long) and see for yourself. Even the unfairly maligned Blenheim had positive write ups in Autocar (one by Steve Cropley and another from Martin Buckley), Top Gear magazine (author Peter Grunert) and Evo magazine (author Peter Tomlinson, though he curiously didn't say much about the steering, a perennial of Evo features). Evo's first report on the Fighter was somewhat on the fence. But David Vivian later tried it against the Ferrari 599 GTB and rated it very highly.

Was driving in Herefordshire or Worcestershire or somewhere around there about five years ago and saw a man cleaning a blue Bristol Fighter behind a house as I was passing. Wonder if it was this one? Wish I'd stopped.

Could never sell it but low and behold it’s for sale right now for £190k. Fair play to him though, he’s put some miles on it and not wrapped it up in cotton wool.

Remember looking at one of these at FoS and the guy from Bristol was very eager to sell one to my dad, until he saw the look on my dads face when he told him how much it was. Daft money for a car developed for about £1.50.

The CEO of the companies and idiot, you can't test drive it, your can't put it in magazines. No wonder it went bust after building 9 cars.
