I used to be a slow reader. I read a 400 pages book in 2 or 3 weeks. But since I got into college and I'm a Law student, I had to be faster. Now I can read 400 pages books in 2 or 3 days. However, I miss when I read in weeks. I think it's better being a slow reader because you can enjoy more the books and knowing better the plot and the characters. I'm trying to go back with my speed at reading hahaha So, don't feel bad about it. Your speed doesn't define your reader quality or your comprehension skills!
The cruel prince is my favorite book series, and in my opinion the second and third books are five stars (the second book is actually my favorite!). That being said, I really enjoyed the first book and how it made the romance slower paced. I heavily agree with everyone who says that you should at least read the second book before dropping the series, which I know sounds like a lot but it so, so worth it. I think once you've read all the books the first book because a little Easter egg hunt of moments that seem small but turn into much more.
honestly lots of other people say this as well so i’m definitely going to give the whole series a try!! also rereading it after its done to see the easter eggs seems so fun!
I've been wanting to read those books for the longest time. I just finished the Cruel Prince series and I ended up really liking it. Hope you enjoy it too!
Your content is so relaxing. It always makes me smile and I'm just happy for your 5k subscribers. You deserve so much more! I love that your channel is growing. I pray that you continue to have success in every endeavor you do! You make me want to read these books even though I wasn't interested in the books since they were so popular!
I feel you about the Song of Achilles. I started reading it about 2 years ago and I could not get through it and I still have like 100 pages left, and I have not read it in over a year. I have not officially decided to not finish it, but people always act like I am crazy for not liking it.
I am such a slow reader but everyone has a different reading pace + 3 books in 24 hours for someone who’s in school and doing other things is good to me! I might give the Cruel Prince series another try too because I wasn’t really feeling the first book😭
LOVE LOVE LOVE 💕 I’m really thinking of starting the cruel prince series! I REALLY wanna read Six of Crows!! Maybe we do a little book club on them 👀😅💕
I don’t like slow burner books I will fall a sleep, but if anyone like fantasy and vampire belle’s morte is a good book. You can get it at barns and nobles.
I didn't really enjoy Song of Achilles and Circe for that matter 😬 the author definitely writes slow narratives, and while I do like that in certain situations, I just don't think her style is my piece of cake. So you're not alone 😅 Never read anything from Colleen but I've heard mixed feelings. I'm not entirely sure I want to read anything from her because I might end up hating it. My first time trying monster was in college, I used to get all my groceries on a local Indian story, and the lady was always so nice and always gave me something for free whenever I went there 😭 I miss her! Can't say energy drinks do much for me, but that might be because I suffer from insomnia. I'm tired all the time but can't fall asleep, and energy drinks just make that feeling stronger 🤣 red bull tastes great tho.
well said! that's exactly it for me! i don't mind slower narratives but her style isn't particularly for me😅 i've definitely heard mixed things about colleen hoover as well. it definitely seems as if she's the kind of writer where you'll either love her or hate her😂 so far i've loved every book of hers i've read! energy drinks + insomnia definitely don't seem like a good combination😭 i wonder if reading ever helps you with that!
Madeline Miller is not for me :( I really wanted to love her books bc objectively I can appreciate that she’s a good writer, but I never enjoy slow lit fic vibes
