Arnel is truly unbelievable. I wasn't ready for him to sound this amazing until I actually heard it for myself. On top of that, we interviewed for our show once and he was SO nice.

So many long-time fans don't give Arnel his due...Steve Perry was great in his day, but Arnel has reawakened a fire that is unstoppable and electric! He has held his own and then some. For people who still want to see Perry, I say "Never mind" It's Arnel, all day, every day for this long time Journey lover!!!

@@jenb9274 Glad he did. No band needs to control what they do on their off time. Him and Cain can spend their off time doing what makes them happy. If the fans get butt hurt over his political views, they aren't true fans. Schon needs to stop thinking just about money and controlling everyone. He doesn't own them.
arnel breathed life and fire to a somewhat aging band. I dont want to watch a rock concert with the lead vocalist just standing there. Seen him move on stage and the energy is infectious. Makes you wanna dance, too.
Good point. And I never thought I"d feel that way but I resonate with this. My example is Boy George with Culture Club. A little separate in genre. But same issues. Boy George doesn't sound like he does and he just stands there. Rooted to the stage. It's a little odd. Especially if the vocals aren't there like they used to be.

Thanks for sharing this nicely taken video, it was not easy taking video and watching it simultaneously, love it What a great performance, you can feel the energy of the musicians most especially AP, who commands the stage with his presence., hope he takes care of himself as the Tour schedule seemed hectic, and hope Neal/Jon's feud does not affect him.. Can't wait to see their LIVE Concert soon!
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle , I will watch Journey's LIVE Concert in person just the same, with my friends and family, don't care about social media stuff, it's not important, it's their music that matters.
@@Dave_Wight_The_Rock_Oracle It did seem like Arnel was being low key dismissed by the rest of the band. It's a shame. He put out more energy than the rest of them put together. They owe their living to him now, because without him, they wouldn't be there.
I think it was on Journey Behind the Music and Jonathan Cain spoke about meeting a boy in the hospital that had terminal cancer and he played him Only the Young before the album was released and he always flt like it was the boys song from that point on. I think if that story every time I hear that song.
Favorite band, best concert ever, energy was extraordinary and classic hits. Performance was super!! I love Arnel! Goodness an awesome and entertaining show! I was there last night and had a blast with these guys! Thank you for posting!!

They're all accomplished musicians but accomplished musicians are a dime a dozen and really if it wasn't for Arnel these guys would be hard pressed to get a gig at a Holiday Inn piano bar. He gives it his all every performance.

For years now, Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain are 50% owners each of the company that owns Journey. Neither can fire each other. Ross Valory and Steve Smith were fired by Steve Perry, Neal Schon, and Jonathan Cain in 1986. Neal and Jonathan bought out Steve Perry in 1998. Hence, Neal and Jonathan being the only owners of Journey today.
With all the infighting going on and lawsuits flying, it's amazing the band is still together. But then again, they know without the band the money flow stops.

Arnel you're already financially stable even they dint want you anymore in the band you still have career after Journey.. Im still waiting for your movie..
Arnel is a fantastic singer period!. I am sure, despite the legacy, he can out sing anyone for a longer time. This is a job for a young voice. A 74 year old voice could not do this. Maybe for a song, possibly for a night. For weeks and months, no way. Arnel rules.
Arnel has had a bad monitor mix for years in his in-ear monitors. Not that Schon or Cain ever did anything about it. When the band changed monitor mixer, Arnel could finally hear himself. Let me be clear here. If someone would have done that to my lead singer, I would have made that tech’s name public and roasted his name until he would be out of work. And then the drama which is like some 3-year olds in a sandbox. Ffs cut the BS, appreciate your fans and keep it together or go home.
I just watched this video and it was okay Arnel had a hard time with some of the notes. I thought it was absolutely beautiful and heartwarming knowing and hearing Neal Schon acknowledging Steve Perry for the song. Do have to say I really thought Steve Perry was going to come on I pray the whole time they were playing that Steve would show up.
Why do you think Schon is doing that? to stick it in Arnel's face as his wife goes on social media to libel Arnel. Schon is about one person, mentioning Perry makes him look good so he thinks

And I must say this That these high range songs are taking their toll on Arnels and Deens Voices…I really Enjoy Classic Rock but their comes a Time when a Band needs to Stop and now is Journeys Time..
I wonder when people are gonna stop thinking of Arnel as Steves replacement... Steve was in Journey for 13 years (77-87 and 95-98). Arnel has now been in the band for 16 years and has released 3 new albums with the band. At 16 years he is actually the longest tenured lead vocalist in the bands history and is the 6th longest tenured member of ALL the musicians that have ever been part of the band! Had they not been blessed with finding him in 2007, Journey was destined to be doing the native American casinos tour and NOT selling out arenas as they have been since Arnel joined the band. Schon and his mrs should shut the hell up and stop trashing him on social media and they should be treating him as an equal, not an employee!
Nope. Doesn't work that way. The band hit the stratosphere with Perry. Not to mention Perry co-wrote the hits folks want to hear, and was an incandescent and beloved frontman. To this day, it's Steve's voice on the radio. And frankly don't think Schon wants another Perry, he likes being the boss, sticking solos in when he wants, has no shame about milking material Perry's voice put the stamp on. The only way Pineda is gonna be equal is on his own. Pineda's biggest asset is apparently he can put up with a lot of bs. Just like Augeri and Soto, AP is an employee. According to Schon, it's Schon's band.
If I was going to go to a Journey concert it would be to see Arnel singing first then Neal's guitar playing second ........without Arnel singing .......I probably wouldn't go unless it was Steve Perry replacing him and we know that ain't happening !
Only the young is SO good even after all these years...guys look like they are having a good time .. I know there is unrest in the camp but please get back and play in europe before you self-combust...
Arnel carries the band for 15 yrs, will see what happens next if he quits the band, for sure no one can ever replace his voice that still reaches high notes at 54yo. Even SP can't at that age for 10-15 songs in consecutive concerts. Arnel sounds struggling and loses his voice from overworking with this band, his vocal needs rest just like any other singer. He's human not a slave. I only watch journey because of Arnel.
His voice will eventually die. Songwriters need to consider this when writing songs. Bring the notes down a tad - the singer can survive multiple tours.
Arnel is awesome! Arnel puts on a great show! Arnel is starting to flatten out. Arnel is a bit off key. Arnel is starting to break up in his head voice. That's no slam on Arnel. It's just what happens to singers once they reach their mid 50s. With that said, Journey puts on a great show and Arnel still rocks!
It's beyond comprehension, just a shame. Schons wife is also making things worse. If Arnel is going public on Twitter something's seriously wrong, he never post stuff like that.
Wow, people just love Arnel . They would be absolutely crazy to alienate him. They seem to forget they were playing the state fair circuit in the late 90’s-early 00’s until he came along. I also find it extremely disrespectful to him the way they are introducing songs talking about how the last time Steve Perry sang this song was in the late 80’s, this is the first song I wrote with Steve Perry, etc. The man has wanted nothing to do with your band in over 25 years now….play the songs that your current singer has proven he wants to sing, and show him respect for doing so.
@Jeanne2323 no we know, we absolutely know its Arnel. SCHON was literally asked 10 times who is the other guy, and he danced around it. We also their PR firm called out Arnel and got so much backlash they created it as "the other guy" thinking sheep are that dense to not know.
