A group fighting the redevelopment of Ontario Place says that the province has agreed to pause some work at the site pending a court hearing scheduled for next week.
Ontario Place Protectors has launched a court challenge of the Rebuilding Ontario Place Act, which gives the government special powers to expedite the redevelopment of the site, including an exemption from the Environmental Assessment Act.
The matter is due to come before the Superior Court of Ontario for a one-day hearing on July 19.

Court challenges isn't the main reason things don't get done .... funding, bad planning....f-ups during construction. Ontario Place needs replacement but a spa and a smaller Science Center that people can't get to.... wasted opportunity. But, Ford needs that Science Center land for development buddies.

Those that are willing to donate to keep the science center would they consider doing the same with Ontario Place. Both attractions have been ignored . Ontario Place has been let to sit idoil for to long. Under utilized for a all season attractions for many events

Any media outlet that reports about politicians polling either good or bad should disclose the name of the company and details of who they polled. There’s just no way Chow has any support from the average people in Toronto.

I woke up this morning and realized that the liquor store was closed but then remember that the LCBO is bullshit and you could always just literally go to any other place to get beer

Didn’t know they have the money to even clean the washrooms their. Would have been just more spending that they don’t have anyways and the taxpayers would have to someday pay for.

I can only eat one meal a day I'm paying all taxes and taxes end up a few dollars left over Toronto's getting worse and worse I'll have to sell my house move back mother land .

What would we need the LCBO for, like they do at Metro.... have all the alcohol in a way that staff have to retrieve it for the customer? Ultimately that's not the answer....but since corporate monopolizes situations at LCBO, it seems grocery stores ( and hopefully not convenience stores in addition ) are a sensible second option ...despite the funding Ontario would lose because of the neglect by LCBO corporate.

the LCBO is just a bunch of chronic alcoholics who don't want to lose their jobs because they know they get discounts on the alcohol. If you cry about losing your job at a booze store, you have a fucking addiction. You can literally buy all the same spirits at beer stores and other establishments but the LCBO is just like I said a bunch of habitual alcoholics, you don't want to lose their discount when the whole fucking place shuts down
