Ontario Knives is my favorite budget minded blades, best bang for your buck, and built in the USA, so you know your getting a quality built product, I own several, and highly recommend them....and Gus you give and excellent fun filled demonstration & review of their knives.....very enjoyable watching your vids!!!
Got one of the last remaining OKC SP-1 Combat knives and was disappointed with the blade grind. It came so dull you couldn't cut butter if you life depended on it. Now I understand why OKC is out of the knife business. Quality Control stopped before they finished making they're knives. I'll go K-Bar any day; Sharp knives out of the box everytime
Get em while ya can. Ontario is know more as we know it after 100+ years. Sold there company and who knows what's going to happen. Just purchased the sp2. ✝️🇺🇸✝️
I have both of them. They are good knifes but i would only buy them if i have belt grinder and know how to make a new edge. I have allmost the full SP line and none of the knifes had a good edge. A better alternativ in my opinion is the Cold Steel SRK with SK5 steel blade. I paid 50€ and it came razzor sharp and with a cydex like sheath.

Both great knives and I love the SPII line with 5160. I have the rare FF1 (same as the SP1 but with steel crossguard and steel buttcap. I prefer the longer SP6 though because it is the perfect stabbing design. It's the same shape as the OKC bayonet and Chimera. Mine has the sharpened swedge snd is 1095 not 1075 like the newer ones. I never baton a knife as that is abuse of your tool and what an axe is designed for. Besides, all of your kindling, small, medium and large pieces of wood are littered all over the forest floor for campfire use.
That is a great question! I have tried it on multiple k bar sheaths ! Sometimes it does sometimes it doesn’t! I recommend going down to an army navy store. That way you can find one that will fit properly.
