Good device for sketching without eyes strain.

The keyboard key arrangement is called "ortholinear" and isn't uncommon in keyboard enthusiast areas (look up the pickle keyboard) Agreed though I prefer staggered layouts

This ebook reader seems very good to me, but given the imminent release on the market of one similar to this one, but in color, specifically the Fujitsu Quaderno A4 Gen 3 with eink kaleido 3, I better wait, hopefully Onyx will release another similar one...

8:25 you see the Left/Right Margin spacing, but unfortunately even with max spacing its not very wide. I have the Note Air 2 for the specific purpose of writing in the margins for academic books, and since even a 10" screen is relatively large, I thought it would be perfect. Sadly, if you make the text small, and max the margins, its not even 1/"2"

Perfect but no SD STORAGE! Damnit... They always seem to keep doing this. We need a device that can house all of our e-books too! It might be time to take my hunt off the grid to make a raspberry Pi-based e-reader with massive storage capability.

It should be noted that Google will not work with device at all now, saying 'This is not a certified device' and thus blocking accounts and everything on the play store.

Hi Peter, Thanks for this. I've been eyeing this one for a while now.. because I am keen on the secondary-screen feature. I write a LOT.. and I like to work outdoors. You mentioned it running as a secondary-screen on its own battery. 1. Is it not possible to having it plugged-in, in order to not having any battery drain ? In the end I was thinking of using this as a somewhat permanent 2nd or 3rd screen, for my Mac/PC. One that I could still take to lectures, for notes.. and read on, etc etc.. I was thinking of ordering one from Amazon (I'm in Portugal), and trying it out. Probably doing the same for one of the 10" models. 2. What do you reckon.. Is this worth the price bump over those ? Hmmm I like the Boox Onyx OS. And this size looks magnificent. Though I would like boox to use Carta 1200 HD for these high end devices.

What about left-handed writers? Aren't they penalized by the icons on the left?

It is so stupid that there is no eraser on the pen. On the Web site, it says they will make a pen with an eraser for it soon, but I hope they don't overcharge like that horrible company Remarkable. However, why else would they downgrade the pen to not have an eraser? I don't know why anyone would follow the remarkable business model to take your customers for granted. At least I didn't see that you have to add a damned screen protector.

Is making track changes and leaving comments in word possible? Is it possible to scribble notes on to a word doc as well ?

What refresh settings are you using for 1) the device and 2) the apps so that you get minimal ghosting and good performance on web browsers, apps with online access like the FT or NY times etc?

I don't get why they don't upgrade the battery. I mean what if you watch youtube on the device? Surely the battery is not going to last as much as it would while reading a book. And at this point, it's more of a high-end eye-friendly tablet rather than a sole e reader. Dasung did it. Why can't they on a 13 inch device! Frustrating!

Does the USB OTG with android 11 support usb uvc microphones? The MaxLumi2 has all the specs for what I want in an android e-reader just a tad too expensive, almost the price of a laptop.

I wonder if the previous Max Lumi will get this new software.

does the lumi2 have the screen protector already applied at factory?

This product is really amzaing that I almost pull the trigger to buy, but then I noticed that the screen glare is actually pretty notciable... it's probably due to the protector glass rather than the E-link. It's better than a mirror screen of alll Apple prodcuts for sure, but still... a less strong but still noticalbe glare still defects the purpose of E-reader.... I think this is a deal breaker for me... I don't know why more and more company install the glass. is it technical necessary? i don't know..... So far Fujitsu might still be the best hardware wise, but $300 more for an unlock Andriod 9? i have to think about it.... realy hope some company remove the glass for their future prodcut. My Kindle paperwhite doesn't have it it looks great.
