One of my favorite remakes. Dino not only did a great job on remaking this song, but he complimented this song with his motivation of doing a great song and adding with a excellent video. Thanks for posting this!
OMG!.. finally i found this song. this song has been playing in my hear for quit some time now.. its been playing off and on for YEARS.. .. lol,.. its a very UP LIFTING song..
ME TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Everyone told me I was CRAZY and there was never a 90's version of this..........HA, i listened to Casey Kasem every sunday, i knew i was right :) Thank you!!!
It wasn't until I finally listened to the lyrics of this song on the retro radio station a few years ago, that it hit me that this is really a sad song about going through tough times and staying optimistic now matter how hard it is presently. Sadly, this is the last song that I knew that Dino released. I miss his music and hope he comes back someday. :-) #DINOOOHCHILD
Have always loved this song, any version, but this one is fun, and uplifting forsure! A lot of the older, slow versions sound so sad and depressing. Love Dino as well, he was my teen crush *blushing ... ;)
love this song. it reminds me of highschool and being young again and loving that era. look at that colorful video. old videos are nicer than the present ones like PM Dawns or Cece Peniston's videos are so so cool. Let the 90's live on!
This totally makes my day, too. I remember listening to it when I was 12 and going through the struggles of puberty. I would sing this song to feel better.
This very version of this song got me through some very tough times when I was eighteen back then. I've never seen the video for it until now but turning on the top 40 radio and hearing it always gave me the hope and strength to get through being away from home and on my own for the first time in my life.
As promised, here's more music from Dino. :-) Far and away, this is probably the biggest hit in his music career if you were to guess from listening to "retro" radio stations today! They play this song religiously on there! I always liked his 1989 songs better but this was a good song as well. When this song was hot in 1993, I always thought it was such a happy song.
Whatever happened to this guy? 80-90s were so one hit wonders pletiful era. Sadly only the hits, the remakes made it through the test of times. But I missed that time so much.
This got me through being eighteen and this will get me through 2018 too. I can always count on this version of the classic Five Stairsteps song to make me feel better.
Me either, bought a record with the original on it today and I was like, there was a remake around the time I graduated, WHO did that?! , LOL thank you!
Best version was in the ending of the movie "Over the edge" Starring Matt Dillion when he was like 15 years old, it was his first movie and a classic: ) Great movie! High recommend anyone see it: )
Don't care how corny the video looks because this version of this song got me through being eighteen. I was scared, emotionally fragile, socially isolated, and struggling to be on my own for the first time and this song back in 1993 gave me something to cling to.
Yes, former "Cover Girl"! They met while both opening for NKOTB on tour in '89/'90. I wonder if they're still married! By the way, check out my channel for a performance Dino did of this song on Friday Night Videos!
It could have been worse. Dino had some serious credibility with urban audiences. Right before his biggest hit "I Like It" came, his previous single "24/7" was very popular on R&B radio.
