@@ae-kz4xd Ranked was largely dead, so it wasn't a huge climb. But he was catching a huge amount of flak from the SDL players because they didn't feel he was that strong, he was just being carried by the division.

@@ae-kz4xd last time I played him he was 8. But he definitely not perform like top 50 players with other divs.

its kind of funny to think about how during ww2 the Cossacks (kossaken or however the Germans spell it) were still a relevant force in 1940s Europe as a sort of last holdover from the 19th century. they have a long and extensive history, a bit of a shame the USSR treated them so poorly throughout its existence.

It seems the 25 to 30 point nerf for paratrooper really hit them hard, to make it balanced they should be 27,5 or get a better vet curve also demolition squad should get either choc or commando, giving more cqc units while remaining historically accurate

30 points is very appropriate for their loadout in a vacuum, 10+ guys with couple of smgs, semi auto rifles, 1 good lmg/automatic rifle and a bazooka. But the problem is they dont get anything cheaper with a worse loadout. I dont think it would be game-breaking op, but if (like atkpower already suggested) either glider rifle or ab rifle lost a bazooka and went back to 25 pts it would make sense, and help them right now, they are kinda the same unit and you dont have a cost efficient rifle line infantry unit

They cant deal with Grilles but they arent hard to play around on this map. It is a map favoring 101st Id say. But both strong divisions. He just didnt play in the area where his div was strongest and invested a lot in backline that didnt do much. Ironic by awesomeo to complain about every unit being stronger as the previous SSB guy. Just think he isnt used to his inf autowinning all engagements. As as long as he avoids the MG fights he should do fine in the matchup. He played the forest much to little and should have brought more concentration of frontline stuff on the sides.

I still dont think this is a great map for 101st, lacking CQC can really hurt. But yeah, I drew him into a fight in the middle and that made it easy to bully him with my long range stuff

this ideally shows why this game is spoiled by certain units - 3no. Mobelwagons, Nimrods, 7/1, flak 43, bofors, quad 20mm's, completely shuts off all airspace which massively sucks when your only recourse to tanks are AT planes. In what world were 37mm or 40mm useful AA pieces - they should have accuracy of no more than 2% - medium & heavy bombers at high altitude would be unaffected by light AA in WW2. Incessant mortaring with half tracks is appalling - too much ammo, too accurate & almost impossible to kill - a 150mm is more likely to die to a half track than a half track to 150mm - when both in range.

Oh, so you want realism in SD2? Ok, then how high do you think was the effectiveness of AT- planes, specifically the rocket ones? What was the accuracy for those?

@@nikolaysanchenkov7438 IIRC it was sub 2% with most of them overcounting their kills. as for the AA the 40mm bofors was a good AA piece and so was the 37mm but these things would have been used in batteries of 3 or more at a time to make up for the low hit probability they had at the time because the only guns using proximity fuses during ww2 were 127mm guns

The AA guns are fine as most of the aircraft in this game are not flying too high since we are not seeing any high altitude strategic bombers here and its mostly low level runs or dive bombers which would be horribly maimed by ground AA like the 37,40 and quad 20mm guns. as for halftrack mortars yes they are a bit more effective than they should be due to the high accuracy but they certainly aren't carrying an unreasonable amount of ammo for what they are. as for the 150mm they severely hamper the effectiveness of heavy artillery in this game because realistically if a 150mm howitzer landed within 30 meters of a half track the fragmentations would easily perforate the halftrack and likely destroy critical components. ( I am basing this off the modern stanag armor ratings where a 155mm howitzer can kill something like a modern IFV from 30 meters away if the armor is thinner than 20mm steel)

@@dominuslogik484 I'm not here to make a realism argument for SD2 imo all the choices made in the game were mostly done with gameplay considerations. But the scale of this game is sometimes hard to judge. For example, think about how the deep forest CQC circle is 100m, heavy arty landing within 30m in this game looks like a literal direct hit when you are looking at the map. And I do believe most 150mm arty in this game would 1-shot a HT landing a direct hit on them.

We had a meta a year ago where AA was weaker and it was not enjoyable. Players (commonwealth most often) could easily build up an unstoppable airforce that no AA could stop and fighter could catch and it was just an easy GG. this is a case of realism having to make way for gameplay mechanics. And it's not as if it's free to have AA or all powerful. Just needs to be played around if you plan to use air
