Open capture technique - How to set your frame tabs for tumbled heart stones Wire wrapping technique... Hi friends, I wanted to give you another way to capture your tumbled heart stones. This one might be easier on some hands... the tradeoff might be that it won't be as tight a fit right away and you might have to fiddle the frame a bit to seat the stone. But the overall capture might be easier for some. I find the capture in Dragon's Blood Heat tutorial Part 1 is easier for some hearts that I have while some stones are easier to set with this open capture technique. Depends on how much belly your tumbled hearts have. Some of mine are almost 8mm thick - so the other method is better.
Some are 5 to 6mm thick ... so this one works great.

In wire wrapping, it's always a good thing to have more than one technique in your toolbox for catching stones... even if the techniques cause the frame to look the same... they can be very different on the hands. Enjoy!
