Love those old F100s! Back in Senior year I had a '73 390 4bbl 4x4 4spd lifted 6" on 33s. dual straight pipes that each exited right behind each door, miss it so much! Now it's 7 years later... got a Civic with a fart can 😕

i did this with my piece of junk firebird later in the day i was called down to the office and was suspended from driving to school so i parked next door at a gas station then i was called down again and suspended for a longer time

I get to go into school at 7:30 while everyone has to go at 6:30 and my principal said I couldn't drive my Nova with a 427 that was used in a Steve McCullen Nitro dragster in the 80's to school because it was a "distraction". Btw I don't have a full exhaust system on it, just a set of old headers lol.

i would love to do this with my foxbody but it has a good sounding flowmaster exhaust and i don't want to deal with taking it off and putting it back on but i want to get a 70s or 80s f250 with a 460 which would be brutal with open headers I'm a junior right now so it's a possibility

my uncle did that with his 57 Chevrolet with a corvette V8 engine back in the 1970s or 80s he got suspended for the open headers. after that, he removed the open headers switch from the dash.

I ran open headers for a few days when I got my truck. The 390 is a bit to much engine to run open, it’s way to loud.

My brother had a 69 Caddy with a 472 big block. Last day of school Junior year he left auto shop (last class of the day) with open headers. I would have sworn it sounded like a B52 taking off. Before he made it out of the parking lot, nearly the whole school was outside their classrooms looking to see what the racket was. He mentioned later that night that he had a lot of ringing in his ears. He was like that for a week or so. Fun times!

all through school I had a 1993 k1500 single cab short bed 5.7 with straights. no cat, no muffler/glass pack just 2 3/4" pipe true duals. used to set off car alarms climbing in it leaving school hahah. those were the days

I'm 17 and my dad and I built a 69 f100 with a 70 cab and 71 flatside bed just like yours, we junked the 302 for a 390bbl from a ford t bird and when I was 15 we pulled it out for the first time in 5 years, he handed me the keys to it when I got my license. I drove it to school the first and second day but on the second day I got a little rambunctious and set off 6 car alarms in the parking lot. Seeing you do this reminds of that last year and I love it. I have some videos from a while back on my channel check it out! The problem you ran into is the reason I used shorty tube headers on a '64 F100 I built. Put in a 351W with a T10, left the 6 cylinder third member in it-was posi track/limited slip already. Missouri statues at that time were with mufflers, could stop at back of cab. Without, to the rear bumper. Ran mine out the end of Cherry Bomb see through at back of cab. Yours' is a sweet truck, keep it even if it's under a tarp.

I remember when I was in high school I had a 74 K5 with a full top instead of the half top. I ran that truck for a while with open headers like that and people were always looking expecting some hotrod lol and it was just my old rust bucket. I took that truck everywhere... some places that I was probably lucky to make it out of lol. Enjoy your youth kid, itll be gone before you know it...

I used to have a 92 Silverado 2500 with 350 open headers. Boy did it scream. Especially in the winter in Canada drifting.

Yup, for like two months I drove my '87 LTD Crown Vic 2-door with a 302 to school with open cats. It was loud and droned like crazy. I tried to scare the pretty girls with it when they'd walk past haha.

Love these old trucks I probably spent more of my childhood riding around in a 70 c10 pickup than I did in school. Wonder I never got a ticket for driving like that

I've got a 69 c20. Never got to drive it too school cause I haven't gotten it running yet. I've got a 350 4 bolt main with an rv cam at the shop rn. Plan on putting it in my truck with a sm465 and a gear vendors overdrive. The engine is getting a victor junior intake with a holley 750 double pumper, 1.94 camelhump heads, hooked competition ceramic coated headers, true dual straight pipe exhaust either side exits or dumped at the axle. And I'm stuck on debating over charry bomb glasspacks or Flowmaster super 10s atm. I'm really leaning on the glasspack side tbh. Safe truckin

Reminds me of an '04 Trailblazer I took to school. It was a piece of shit with a bad trans (slipped in 3rd) that we were using for parts, so by this point I cut off the catalytic converter to get some pocket money, and then at school, rev bombed it. Teacher wasn't happy, but some of the kids were like "I never knew a 6 cylinder Trailblazer sounded so good"
