Will it home anywhere and actually save the zero? Im asking coz i like to use the right corner on my machine when milling wood just to have more control over the chips and cleaning.
Yes! you can jog the machine where you like and zero it to ensure that's where you start every time you run the code, so you can load and unload stock into a jigged spot on the machine for instance and start there repeatedly.
I noticed the home location is a large negative number. Would that not be the zero location? Mine is the same and I would prefer the machine called that all zero.
If your using OpenBuilds CONTROL when you home your machine it touches off on the front left corner of the machine (if your facing the machine and your limits are set up as in the Builds videos) Once your homed you can Zero all in the software to make this point your starting point. Also if you have a smaller piece of material located out in the middle of the table and you want to start there, no problem just jog out to the front left corner of the material and zero there to make that your new start location. Please have a look at the end of the Build videos to get a quick overview on how we use the OpenBuilds CONTROL software to run a job.
