Opening a composting toilet after 10 years 

That's a pretty well designed and monumental composting toilet/outhouse. Always nice to have a back up system! I'm not even sure where the toilet effluent goes at our place in Brazil, I'm ashamed to say...

I came back only to find my comment gone?? I told how I used 5gal buckets in a full frame plastic toilet but knew & got idea from a homesteader that had made a wood toilet with seat that was built in, the bucket went into with door behind cabinet to outside to take them to compost or just lid them until weather permitted. Mine are 2 as I discribed because #1is considered grey water here & #2 must be in a designated compost for a year. It makes it easier to dispose of half but my plastic full toilet bodies had to have a base to make them tall enough for 5gal buckets. They only costed 25& 35. As I got one that was only left on sale. Other comes apart into 2 pieces also.
