With the way solar panel prices have dropped during the last decade, wind powered electrical systems only make economical sense when they have wind turbines about 30 foot in diameter or larger (15-25 KW size). If you have a lot of cloudy days and go the solar option, make sure you find a good Maximum Power Point Tracker (MPPT) controller. Some of them will even boost the panel voltage when it drops below the charging voltage.
Agreed. We plan on changing over to Mppt once we get over a 1kw system. Right now we are are around 900 w. Suits are needs including a normal fridge. Thanks for watching.
