Out of the blue, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment decided to dump a random Hanna-Barbera VHS onto an official retail DVD as part of their “TV Premiere” line. Thankfully, they picked one of the Jetsons tapes containing the rare 1980s syndication prints of season 1 (which plastered the intro and closing credits, and removed the laugh track, to bring the season in line with the revival so they could be aired together without most young viewers noticing the difference). The episode in particular featured on this release is “Uniblab”, which actually has this exact same print utilized on the Boomerang app (while the season 1 DVD box set, Max, and Tubi restore both the laugh track, and the season 1 closing credits with George and Astro on the treadmill).
It’s been a long while since the last time I covered a VHS on this channel, so why not do it again now with a title nobody else has covered yet? Enjoy!

Ah yes. This takes me back. I had the Elroy's Mob VHS. This is how I learned the sun is 93 million miles from Earth. Amazing!!!!!

It's weird how by recycling the VHS master, there is a trailer for a movie that is owned by a different company and wouldn't be released on DVD until five years later. Pretty neat of WB to do though. Some tapes from the Hanna-Barbera Home Video era are pretty rare. Also there are two other HB cartoons that got "TV premiere" DVDs. The Flintstones and The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest. They also got Mini-DVD releases (the former of which also added the episode Hot Lips Hannigan for some reason).

I'm gonna be really weird and say that the trivia game always gave me the willies as a kid because immediatly after on these vhs tapes, they would run the trailer for the Jetsons movie and the narrator sounded like he was describing a horror movie when the screen was all dark. Dunno, just always quietly freaked me out...
