I order them from my farmer by color and multiples and that is how he sends them to me.

Maddie's Pearls I guess you didnt really read what I wrote. Ive already established that we know you buy them like this, but Im curious about how your supplier, or anyone for that matter, can know what is contained in the oyster without opening it. Its like me asking how a computer is made, and you tell me you just buy them at the store! Lol

Jason Vigil the oysters aren’t naturally made these pearls are human made so they just add the right amount of I believe it’s sand into the oyster to create the pearls. Natural made pearls u wouldn’t know how many is in each oyster these are human made pearls that’s why they are dyed colors as well.

Jenni already answered but I'll elaborate. If something gets into the oyster like a sand particle (which it most likely is in the wild) it will start to grow a "shell" around it as a defense mechanism, which becomes what we call the pearl. This is why natural pearls are rarely round. On pearl farms humans decide how many things to put in the oyster, as well as the shape so that they might turn out more round. (small beads, stones, other smaller pearls, etc...)
