Her breath control is amazing. When she does take a breath, it's so quick that you barely notice it. I know next to nothing of opera but I know greatness when I see it.

Her mother was an opera singing instructor and I saw a vid of Cecilia playing at the piano and doing something impossible with her voice. Her mother said "You can't do that!?" and Cecilia said "No one told me I couldn't..."

What impresses me the most is her absolute precision with pitch. Dead on, even with those incredibly difficult runs. It's truly inspiring and super human. And what range!

I saw her perform multiple times. She has an immense charisma, you could feel the public and the orchestra alike falling in love with her by the minute.

Jules, I agree with you Cecilia is the best. The first time I saw her and heard her sing I was hooked. Then i found her signing Agitata da due venti" and it reduced me to tears. Her command of her voice and her vocal range is superior. Plus, I have a crush on her since I first saw her.

I adore Cecilia and especially her work concerning lesser known compositions outside the usual repertoire. The difficulty of this particular aria should be clear to anyone, even those not familiar with opera. The extremely fast sequence of short notes and wide intervals requires incredible bravura.

I tried playing this aria on a treble recorder and tried to emulate her......wow! What technique and breathcontrol this aria demands and Cecilia does it so.magnificently and it all looks so easy!! Well done, Cecilia!!!

I have several of her CDs, I happened upon her when I was reading about castrato and that she had spent time singing the songs that were written for castrato. That lead me to the first CD of hers that I bought. Best wishes from the Scottish Highlands. Richard.

Miss Bartoli's skill and her coloratura always astound me. I've always enjoyed her as Rosina in The Barber of Seville. But I had no idea that she could such difficult aria that virtuosically. Opera is my musical passion. So, if I could own only one genre of music, it would be opera. And Miss Bartoli's recordings would need to be in my collection.

The aria was surely written to be a showstopper for a brilliant singer. But this singer is probably beyond anything Vivaldi ever dreamt of. She makes it seem easy! And she appears to be having a ball while doing it. It's impossible not to love her!

@@Schhmoop Costanza was written for a female soprano, not a castrato. Although usually classed as a mezzo, Bartoli is singing in the soprano range here. She seems to defy categorisation. Of course, she's brilliant at castrato arias too.

Let's get serious. One cannot watch "JUST A LITTLE BIT" at that Cecilia's video. Once you start, you're hooked, and you listen to it until the end, no matter what. Earthquake or whatever. That said, she's on my top 5 list on person I want to have in my close neighbourhood.

I was so fortuate to go see Cecilia sing 3 hours solo performance in Los Angeles. We got in line to thank her. Hundreds of us. She had incredible stamina. I asked her If she would sing some Roberto Broshi as the Ferinel brothers were so Amazing. She noded her her slowly as she must have been so tired. A day that I will always treasure.

My jaw dropped to the floor the first time I heard Cecilia sing this. This was actually the video that introduced me to this amazing singer. Since then I’ve seen many other performances from her, and many interviews in Italian, Spanish,and English. It amazes me she seems not to know how great she is, just beautiful!

The closest thing to Pukka Raag in Indian classical singing that exists in western song except that it is much shorter whereas the Pukka Raag is a whole symphony in terms of variation. The Pukka Raag is like an Italian masterpiece in oil except that it is in sound.

The technique she employs is called circular inhalation. She literally breaths while singing. If you call yourelf an opera singer you should know about things like that.

I'm am NOT a musical person unfortunately but I love opera. I know of many operas and the singers. I don't like being patronised, so don't like the superior attitude of this presenter. I have seen this opera singer at my local sympany hall. She's my favourite. This ladies comments treat viewers like dummies PLUS she's very distracting. Especially with her showing off "how much I understand" Cecilia's style by grimacing and nodding. I don't gave to know the ins and outs, I appreciate and find out these things myself. I dont like this OTT presentation. It is ridiculous! I love Cecilia and watch her constantly.

I'm curious to know where in the video you felt patronised? Here is a young woman on RU-vid enthusing about singers, arias and composers that some people may be hearing for the first time, which is surely some kind of a service to opera that not many others are providing? It's obviously aimed at an audience that might not know very much about the art form, and don't have the opportunity to hear these singers in their local concert hall. Her analysis is not particularly technical - I think she was being a fan-girl as much as anything, but one who knows how difficult this music is to sing, and the excellence of Ms Bartoli's performance. As for her facial expressions, they are no more theatrical than those we see in the video from Ms. Bartoli. Julia loves the same singer that you love, but apparently not in the 'right' way. In fact, so much in the 'wrong' way that she makes you angry! This seems to be a strangely extreme reaction.
