Her parents are both opera singers. Her singing is absolutely accurate. She lives what she sings, one can see and hear her joy across her tremendous virtuosity❤
I've traveled to seven countries to see Cecilia perform and haved every second! Since 1999 I have been a totally devoted fan of this amazingly talented and gracious singer. I plan traveling to Vienna next thus summer.
I'm so happy that you enjoyed my suggestion! You never really know when it comes to opera; some people find it unpleasant. But your reaction was super-satisfying to watch! 😊
You've never seen anything like this because very few people have ever been able to do it with this kind of agility and accuracy. Cecilia is a once-in-a-generation talent.
I cannot believe a human being can do that. I agree. I have never seen or heard anything like this. Absolutely mesmerizingly great. I cannot imagine the training and control that is required to do that piece at that elite level. I have to listen and watch again.
she was among the first to sing Baroque opera as it was intended (fast) but nowadays there are quite a few other singers who can sing on this level. Is a great time for anyone interested in getting into Baroque opera specifically (which, in my opinion, is a lot more fun that 19th century opera).
She is one of the greatest Baroque period opera singers in the world. She can do those runs- 32nd notes going super fast! She’s also totally adorable to watch!!!! Brilliant offering, Harri❤😊! She’s singing about raging winds. Her mother is her vocal coach!
Makes you wonder, doesn’t it? I am a bassoonist and Vivaldi wrote over 30 concertos for us. They are quite difficult! Bassoons of Vivaldi’s time had very few keys which would have made the technical aspects even harder than they are now. As for this aria, most people you hear singing it now don’t take nearly as fast as Ms. Bartoli does. Those who try are not very successful.
This is only the second time I've heard this piece of music by this performer, and I've been listening to and singing classical and operatic music all my life. I didn't know until today that Vivaldi composed for the voice (how could I not know that? I'm 75 years old. Because, no one else singing, can sing this music!) I've been living in a different reality, but Cecilia Bartoli has opened my ears to the Gods.
This is from a fantastic concerto performance called "Viva Vivaldi", where I fell in love with Cecilia and the accompanying Baroque Orchestra, the Giardino Armonico. So understandable that you have loved it too ❤️ BTW, this is also a good point in your credit! Being able to appeciate and promote genius is so positive. Thanks! And, of couse kudis to thr little Baroque music orchestre Il Giardino Armonico
Cecelia is an amazing singer - her agility is legendary. There are many wonderful opera performances out there that would make your heart sing. Well done on venturing into the wonderful world of opera.
She is much the same today. One time she sang Susanna from "The marriage of Figaro" - on the Met. She made James Levine replace two oboes with two clarinettes. There are three scores for the role - two scored for Nancy Storace (Mozarts favourite mezzo soprano) and Cecilias voice is probably the closest we come a voice that was not recorded. Point being she can tell everybody to do their homework before going on stage. Not that she isn't a good collegue. She is. Here is a rotten video of her singing Parto Parto from Mozarts "La clemenza di Tito". ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HL-V0KgroQg.html Just look at the way she enters with the clarinette (basset clarinette) in tow and the conducter following. Just see that afterwards the entire orchester tunes up, they could not hear themselves. You imagine her saying to the clarinette before entering: "Let's go in and kick some serious butt. Just concentrate and we'll be fine - I got You covered." But You are right: Both her parents were opera singers and she slept in the baby lift while they were working at rehersals.
Back in the 1990s I found a CD of hers in a Borders Book Store. I bought it and was so glad I did. I was fortunate to see her perform in person when a good friend of mine invited me to go see her. We were up high in the balcony of a beautiful theatre. It felt so surreal being there seeing her in person.
I had just watched this performance and your channel popped up. I was curious :) It seems that sharing the experience made mine richer. Thank you. Btw, have you looked up Oktavists ? Male singers who hit C1. Not joyful and energetic like Cecilia Bartolli, serious and deep. Another groove completely.
Now try this on for size: Vivaldi was the director of a school thak took in poor children and trained them as professional musicians... Can you imagine the skills they had?
Cecelia Bartoli Say-chee-lia Bar-tho-lee Agitata da due venti Ah-jee-tah-tah dah doo-eh ven-tee Just a little help from a native English speaker who also speaks Italian and Spanish. I live in Italy though. I also hope you have looked at DIANA DAMRAU The Austrian soprano who does the queen of the night aria from the magic flute better than anyone else on the planet if you have not already. I saw someone else recommend that and it is amazing. I’m so glad that you love opera. Since moving to Italy for years ago I listen to a full length opera every single morning while I am preparing lunch for my husband before he comes home from work. Channel 5 here has a full length opera every single day at 10.
The Colaturas she does, they’re very accurate and clear. It’s a sort of Runs and Riffs in a Pop or Rnb world music but in Opera world, it is called Colatura. I heard other opera singers version of this piece but especially in those parts, hers are unique
This is an OLD singing technique that predates what most people think of as opera. Using long and sustained notes with human voice is something that happened mostly during the classical and romantic era of music. Before that, the voice was mimicking the strings, like you've noticed.
OMG, I can't believe you're hearing Cecilia!! This version of this song is astounding. I first heard of her around 1994 when she was on 60 Minutes. I got her album If You Love Me, which is just her and a pianist. Its beauty and simplicity is sublime.
I cannot believe that a human can do that with the voice. A virtuoso of any musical instrument would find that extremely difficult, she does it with her voice. She was taught by her mother.
Harry; to say...what...like; which technique have you explained to deserve such an honor... Ah! Thank you for not saying - " Oh, my God, thousand times😅😅
There are only two unbeatable divas: Mariah Carey and Cecilia Bartoli. Period. And you HAVE TO check out Bartoli singing "Son Qual Nave". It is even more shocking than "Agitata da due venti".
God! except " guau"; nothing about technique explanation.. guau!!!! anyway the problem is not with a dog, but a ship😂😂😂 Cecilia.. superb as always; please if you don't know...better.... about vocal different range according crescendo and descrecendos: " guau...??? or ..." my god"...😅😅😅 when they don't know.
Opera singers don't need microphones to be heard over the orchestra. The explanation of how that is achieved, vocally, is complex and well beyond my technical understanding of the precise coordination between tonal frequencies and pitch, not to mention breathing techniques, tongue and throat manipulation and how the internal mouth cavity is manipulated to assist in the vocal production of various tones. And then, of courst, there are the years of intense training to bring all of this together into a stunning performance like this.
She clearly just loves singing. I would like to suggest that you could inset yourself into the page rather than you occupying the majority. Is it to do with copyright?
