I absolutely adore this game. Such a masterpiece. "Way of the Ghost" always gets me emotional when I hear it, so that song is probably my personal favorite
When I landed a PS5 this was one of the first games I bought, having been an Xbox gamer for most of my life. I actually haven’t played it yet, a year later, because I’ve been focusing on Bloodborne, the Demon’s Souls Remake, and Elden Ring, but this is definitely next on my list. Excited to hear it’s music in game!
Got Platinum in GoT even though I'm not a trophy hunter, such a good game in all senses. Be it music, gameplay, story, it nails it all. Right now I'm taking Stranger of Paradise Final Fantasy Origin for a spin but it's hard to start the game because I keep listening to the theme on home screen :D. It's called Jack's theme if I'm not mistaken and it's so good. Really recommend giving it a listen.
@@MarcoMeatball I've only started playing this so my opinion can be different by the time I finished it but so far I'm having fun. Although I'm not a big fan of constant equipment changing and job trees design but it's not a huge deal breaker. It is Final Fantasy but the gameplay is more like Nioh so it's up to the player if that's a good thing or bad.
Yeah the music and visuals of this game are a masterpiece. However I would personaly prefered if this game was shorter and not open world. The themes of this game would feel better if the whole thing was more concentrated. Meaby something like the last of us... oh btw you should consider listening to the last of us music
I really recommend “Sacrifice of Tradition”. A masterpiece of an ost also from Ghost of Tsushima. PS: oh… sorry, wrote this before starting the vid…it’s my favorite peace as well)))
This is my favorite song in the whole game. There's others that are wonderful but this has so much feeling in such a short succinct song, it hits so well.
Ghost of Tsushima is such an amazing game, and generally I'm not drawn to open-world games like this. I got bored with Horizon very quickly for example, but something about this drew me right in. The visuals, the music, the style. The game being grounded in reality with the very slight touch of the mystical. The themes of samurai vs ninja, honor vs reason. I really hope this comes to PC so I can play it again.
OH MAN. I hope that this game comes to pc one day so I can experience it. I've been trying to stay away from spoilers in hopes this happens lol. Just this game is like looking at a vibrant and beautiful painting. And the combat looks really fun and cinematic. I'm also a sucker for anything japanese not guna lie lol. My first time actually hearing this theme and its kinda making me more excited to play the game if I ever do lol. But omg its just beautiful. Really loved pretty much everything about it. The cello, voilins and the japanese flute the shakuhachi I think its called. Just AHH so good.
Ghost Of Tsushima! I've been wishing you'd react to this because I have so many recommendations dude. But I'll restrain myself and for now, I'll only request you to react to Shurai from the OST. It is an absolutely phenomenal track. PS: Ah, so you have played Ghost Of Tsushima! Then you know exactly which theme I'm talking about, the one where you defend Yarikawa. I'd still love to see your take on it though... And Sacrifice Of Tradition too. I just think the parallels that Sacrifice Of Tradition draws between Jin and his uncle is absolutely beautiful.
I, too, played the crap outta this game. Glad to see my favorite track from it on your channel, though the enka-style song comes in at a close second. [Slight SPOILERS] This theme is a big reason why I hate that, in NG+, you skip the opening entirely. Galloping through that white field of susuki (what the game calls pampas grass) and the forest, then emerging into the game world proper right when the music climaxes, the title card dropping as Jin runs his hand through the grasses... The perfect theme for a perfect opening. This game has many moments that I wish I could experience for the first time again.
The scene that plays at the beginning of the snowy region, most people will know when, is definitely my favourite. Especially combined with when it is played. This is my second favourite.
@@micahorwhatever3557 I got very close at that part too, saddest part probably for me. The music adds a lot to emotional scenes in games, anime or movies. For me it makes up 80% of the experience most times.
Ghost of Tsushima was something that I, an unrepentant scholar of Japanese history, folklore, and culture, had to buy. So much so that I bought the collectors' edition that has all the extras such as the cloth map, the sashimono, and the Sakai mengu mask. Very cool to see you covering one of its songs, and my favorite parts of the soundtrack are For Yarikawa, The Way of the Ghost, and obviously Sacrifice of Tradition.
Great game with great soundtrack, but my favorite track without a doubt is The Way of the Ghost (feat. Clare Uchima). Gives me chills every time i listen to it.
Ghost of Tsushima is such an amazing game, if you ever get the chance of playing it you really should, it's an experience. The story is great, the characters are awesome, the music is incredible, and the visuals are breathtaking. Without spoiling anything, I'll just say that the ending is one of the best endings I've encountered in a video game. Really a must-play game
@@MarcoMeatball Sorry my bad, I think I skipped the start of the video and went straight to the start of the reaction. But my comment still stands for anyone else who has not played the game
I’m so happy you loved this game, for selfish reasons. One of my really great friends played Norio in it!! I always recommend people to play this because of that :D
Man ghost of tsushima is my all time favorite game and everything in this game, the visual, the gameplay, the music, everything in this game I love, hell this was the first game that I cry for, and hell I never cry for games but this one did it for me, one of if not the best games that came out
I love this song, I recommend listening to The W ay of the Ghost, it's really a beautiful piece to listen to. Makes you want to hear it on repeat. Great video as always!!
This game is so absolutely stunning and moving on so many levels. I was storming a place and the music just was drums and Mongolian throat singing and I broke out in full goosebumps. Nobody should miss this game.
After you do a video on "Sacrifice of Tradition" I think it would be really great to see a video on "Way of the Ghost" I feel that it is the ending piece to this trilogy of Jin Sakai's themes. ❤ Loved the video keep being great!
I’m SO delighted to see you listening to Ghost of Tsushima. This OST is just such pure emotion and beauty, it’s absolutely blissful to listen to. Thank you for talking about leitmotifs, because the way it uses themes is soooo good. Also I just love watching you smile and groove along to it, because I’m sitting here doing the exact same thing! I loved the hell out of this game, too. I’m excited to hear you’ll react to more of it, and second the people also suggesting the Way of the Ghost, since it both makes me cry and also I’d love to hear your thoughts on the vocals.
One way I love to interpret this track is to look at the instruments that play in it - on one hand you have your traditional Japanese instruments (Shakuhachi, Taiko drums and probably a bunch of others I can't pick up) and on the other are "foreign" instruments (they're western rather than Mongolian but for the sake of this metaphore they are just "foreign"). The song starts relatively peaceful (relatively speaking) for a few seconds, then the invasion starts, the beats of the drums and the (I have no idea, it's 2 AM I'm to tired too tell exactly what it is but I want to finish this comment) and afterwards you start hearing the two distinct "voices" - the traditional and the foreign, just like in Jin's own head, going back and forth, almost like they are arguing. As the backgrounds grows in intensity (mostly with more un-traditional instruments, the invasion intensifies) the traditional voice (mainly the Shakuhachi) grows weaker (and maybe that's me but I feel like it also grows more.. desperate? Maybe that's just the Shakuhachi sounding like a Shakuhachi...) until at the end they melody from the beginning returns as learn to play together. Or maybe the tradition dies? Again, I'm to tired to tell, it's been a while since I've listened to this track.
Love Sacrifice of Tradition. Have an extended version on my playlist. Trouble is: I finish the boss fight way too early, so I can only hear the first 30 seconds 😂
I love how intense part of the track is and how serene the other is. Jin has both such serene and brutal parts of his personality that make him such a great character
I just finished the game a few days. Ago and was just stunned. Went back to your channel looking for other reactions and surprised you reacted to this.
