Member of the Million Dollar quartet. Member of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Country Music Hall of Fame. Started playing his music when he was 8 years old in the back of his dad's pickup truck in Ferriday Louisiana. I am 77 years old and have seen him live over 60 times. In addition to rock and roll, he sang country, rhythm and blues, ballads, swing, jazz, gut bucket blues, gospel and more. He lived to be 88 years old. Great Post Gooble Reacts !!! You ought to check out when Jerry plays "Great Balls of Fire" sets the piano on fire and keeps playing the piano and singing the song at the same time. He was indeed, "The Killer". Adios.

Jerry Lee Lewis and his cousin, Rev. Jimmy Swaggert,, were taught by the same piano teacher in Louisiana. Years later, their2nd cousin, Mickey Gilley, was taught piano by the same teacher. He was a country star. You really need to react to the video where Jerry Lee Lewis, Jimmy Swaggert, Mickey Gilley, and Charlie Rich all play piano. It's a glimpse back at how music evolved over two generations.

Jerry Lee Lewis and Jimmy Swaggart were cousins. They grew up together. If you watch Jimmy Swaggart playing piano, you’ll notice the same style of playing the piano, but without the leg movement. May they both R.I.P.

You have got to listen to some of his country music, it is golden and he has one of the best country voices there ever was, imo he is the best country singer to hit the stage

He's great, but not better than george jones and keith whitley. He wasnt strictly country though.. His gospel and country releases was his best.. R and R i liked, but not his best

Nice reaction and when he started out he was brand new in the type of music he created. Another singer, Little Richard, had a similar style and was a little earlier than Jerry. He also made a lot of parents ban his music for their kids and some held public burnings of his records.

Oh well, I'm old, but that's a few years older than me. Wasn't that dismissed as monkey music back then ? Always nice when music evolves I mean from pure classical music to rock to punk and heavy rock etc.. What a performance by Jerry .

...JLL was the absolute best when it came to 'Rock-a-Billy music...but, also, good ole Rock and Roll too. you mentioned Elvis...he and JLL were friends(both got their starts in Memphis at Memphis Recording Service(also known as Sun Records)...and, get this...JLL lived only about 8 miles from Elvis! JLL at the Lewis Ranch in Nesbit, MS and, Elvis of course at Graceland in south Memphis near the MS state line.

He was the original wild man of rock. He did what he’s wanted,, which included marrying his 13 year old cousin and crashing his car into the gates of Graceland.
