when you have had dozens of shots your memory works like building blocks the next day. I don't think he fell into the river, he walked past cop very lucid.... the main thing now is closer for his parents, especially the mom.
This poor kid was not from that area and his so called friends would even help him get back to his hotel. This is so not a friend. And now they can live with what happened to this poor guy. If they took him to his hotel they could have returned to the bar. But no. They couldn’t even help this poor kid supposed to be their friend. I’m so disgusted. Bless this poor kid. Bless his family. No hero’s there. They couldn’t give help to someone who desperately needed it. I bet this kid would have helped them if tables were turned. God is going to be with him. No matter what is the ending. And none of those so called friends will be seen as anything but selfish. Sorry. But it takes a heart to care for someone
I agree. Which is why you have to be careful as to who you call "friends". My 20 yrs old niece has to go out of town to take a work course next week and I told her she isnt taking the bus and she isnt going with friends. I booked us train tickets, she's staying in a reputable hotel, its costing me a fortune, but she is coming back alive. You cant replace a life lost.
I don't care if they served him one drop of alcohol. They should have called him a cab or made his friends escort him to his hotel safely. How hard would it have been to sit the young man down and call him a ride? When you have a visibly inebriated patron you don't throw them out the door to fend for themselves. He's 6'5" and 160 pounds. He's not hurting anyone. I'm 100% certain there will be some brutal litigation because of the way this was handled.
Well is it a restaurants responsibility to get you a cab. Or the bowling alleys or the amusement parks or movie theaters responsibility if you get one drop of alcohol come on ur comment is ridiculous. He is an adult. Dies he need someone to hold his hand to get home. The way ur talking he did. Maybe a back pocket to hold onto all the way home. Come on silly Billy.
Bar did nothing wrong.....his friend went with him to the front exit door and then went back upstairs....Riley then called his friends and told them he was going to the hotel

There is NO WAY anyone having one (1) alcohol drink and two waters would be that high stepping drunk. The bar seems to be covering their azz. His friend was told as we were hearing that if he left he would not be able to come back in. Causing Riley to go solo. Something is really fishy. I would like to ask his friends what Riley was drinking to verify the truthfulness of the bartenders.
Barhopping? Perhaps. I think he was using some street drugs, if he was messed up in the bar, someone should have called him a taxi and seen him home, one of his so called friends
The group had probably gone to several bars prior to this one. He must’ve been getting rowdy to get “kicked out” of the bar. Usually, the bartenders just stop serving you drinks, but let you stay. Or else his “buddies” were buying drinks and giving them to him. He sure looked shit-faced as he stumbled down the street. He definitely had more than one drink and two waters. I still think he fell/stumbled down the ravine and into the river. His cell phone must’ve fallen in with him. Too bad no one from the two homeless camps he passed by can remember seeing or noticing him.
It's called bar-hopping, and you can't seriously be sheltered enough to have never heard of the concept. You really think a bunch of twenty year old frat guys are gonna go to that area and just buy drinks at one bar??
Thats my thought as well. Especially after going down a hole of smiley face killer podcasts and men going missing from bars to turn up in rivers or lakes days later. Police are ruling them accidental or suicides but the rising number is concerning.
@@MITsolar but only served 1 drink and 2 waters. . Mom spoke to him an hour before his disappearance and he was sober. The guy is 6'6. . . Id expect more than one drink to make him drunk
It goes back to the 10 frat boys! I go bar hoping and never walked that fast or sprinting and run into a meter and get up like that. Alcohol is a downer. I think they drugged him! Why is no one asking them. I would be and I think Riley’s dad is a smart man. I think he knows what’s going on. Why did not one of them stay here in Nashville to help find him??
One drink? He was dangerously intoxicated! He looked like he was about to pass out. I’m afraid he did and hit his head or there was something in his drink. It’s also possible his drunkenness “irritated “ people and they beat him up, only to drive him to another location. This young man is out there.. for the sake of his parents… don’t be a coward- call in anonymously and report his location!!!!!!
There's a string of these though. The police won't investigate calling them suicides or accidents. Look up the Austin TX lake serial killer. . Not a joke but there are a lot of men going missing from bars near major waterways only to be found in a river or lake. Its happening in Pittsburgh. Some are calling it the smiley face murders but they have some new drug that mimics ghb but its not detectable.
There is no integrity in friendships like there used to be . Friend relationships with the rise of social media are concerned more with a quantity of individuals they can label a friend but really it’s superficial friendships for the most part without that quality that runs deeper . When morals and values change within society I believe it blurs the lines on who to trust or even gauge properly has your interests in mind . I feel very bad for this young man to have had no one to lean on when he needed some semblance of a friend to look after him.
View the video of each and every bar that Riley Strain went to. And they need to do some serious questioning of his friends. Something is very fishy here.
What is so fishy? Immature idiots who don't care about each other much go bar hopping, one of them has a big mouth when drunk and gets kicked out. Where his body ended up, we'll find out.
Nobody has shown any video of his condition when he arrived there. You would have to do a dozen shots to get into that condition if he was sober when he arrived. His mother said he was sober when he spoke to her an hour before getting kicked out of this bar. And how about those concerned frat "brothers"? Not one of them had the guts to escort their friend back to the hotel!
How do they know he had 2 waters? As a server, the only time I ring in a water is large parties to keep my seats straight. (we make our own NA drinks) Does the bar make ALL of the drinks? (water and sodas etc). That is the only reason to have 2 waters show up on a tab. When I bartend, I never ring in a water. Just curious how that establishment operates.
Slimy statement to cover any liability. It would take quite a while to consume it 2 full glasses of water (and pee them out). He was there between 9-9:30.
They pregamed. How much did he drink BEFORE they got there? And his "friends" are not friends. My crew if one of us is kicked out we're ALL leaving. Smh.
Exactly re the pregame. One of the ‘bros’ is the quarterback and knows what happened. No way a few of the guys could not have stood outside with him while the tab was taken care.
I had never really thought about this before because I didn’t grow up in a very large or dangerous city but if a restaurant or bar has served a person alcohol and then they decide the customer is too hammered to be there they should evaluate the customers circumstances to determine the best course of action instead of kicking them out to God knows what. Why would you send an extremely intoxicated person out into the street or to drive somewhere? Somebody should have called him a taxi, Uber or called the police to escort him to his hotel. Watching the video of this young man is so scary and sad. Sending prayers out to him, his family and friends.
Why aren't they interviewing all his friends there and asking if they all went to other bars before the last one, and if they knew if he took anything, also they need the footage of the inside of all the bars he was in that night....
Hopefully, all his friends were interviewed by the police and if so, they may have lawyered up so we won’t be seeing them on the news. I’m sure the police have the indoor footage if there is any.
Looks like he could have been drugged. If 1 drink does this wow.hes stumbling ,seems disoriented. Poor guy.these friends should have helped him there was ways to help him.
They aren't helping. They are all lawyered up. LOL...This is America. The moment you are associated with anything, you will be a "person of interest"...So lawyering up is what all of them are doing. None of them have gone on camera to help or speak or anything. They are waiting until Riley's body is found and they will speak up.
NO! The allegedly got the hell out of dodge shortly after reporting him missing. Reported him missing 16 hours after he left the bar. That was mighty nice of his fraternity brothers.
Why are they not asking his 10 other frat boys! Surveillance shows he was by himself outside and stumbling and disoriented. He was walking down a street alone and ran into a meter laid on the ground and got up. At one point he was with people close by. He went one direction wrong way. Stopped was going to go right way then ended up going wrong way. Never seen again. Down by the homeless along the Cumberland they saw him. I do not think anyone hurt him. I think his buddies should have stayed with him. It does not take 10 people to stay in a bar and pay a tab. The one boy took him down stairs and then went back in and never came out. No one in their right mind ever leaves a person alone when intoxicated or drugged. You stay with your friend not leave him alone. I grant video footage shows the rest in the bar partying and drinking. While Riley was outside waiting. Has anyone thought of where they were before hand. He was served one alcohol beverage and two bottles or glasses of water. If he was that intoxicated where were they all at before? . Bar hopping or at the motel drinking. I would never ever let my kids join a frat group. Real friends I think not! Let you hanging. Why is it on the 911 call the friend did not even act in distress. Yet it took so long for them to get in touch with the police? I guess they had to sober up first. I feel horrible for his parents and step parents. Good looking kiddo that seems very bright and smart and good hearted. He was so close to the river he could have fallen in and that worse case. The Cumberland is narrow there and current is rough and under tow. The further down it widens. I hope they find him and wish for his safe return❤.
I've seen the security cam footage, if he only had one alcoholic beverage, he was drugged. And, if he only had one drink, why did Luke Bryan's throw him out?
I think he was over served elsewhere tried to sober up with water, and now my theory a bartender decided that since Riley was buying water he wasn’t going to spend enough money or tip enough so they wanted him gone ?
Um.. theres no way that ONE drink would leave him in that state unless he was under the influence of other drugs, and why was he escorted out? oh, because they kick you out of bars when you're in this condition. So he either prepartied at the hotel or the "friends" are lying and gave him drinks they purchased. Either way, very unfornate that his "brothers" let him leave by himself in that condition.
@@MITsolar yeah no kidding. There’s many ways to be shit faced before arriving to a bar. Pre party in the hotel, the car or other bars. They all hit the mark.
He is crossing 1st Ave North and Church Street not far from Fort Nashboro. There is a cliff looking over the river not far from the direction he is heading. I used to park my car along Gay Street and walk by that way to Riverfront Park. That appears to be the last time he was seen by cameras. I am praying for his family. It is shameful someone did not call him a $10 Lyft and serve him a cup of coffee. I guess we have become so commercialized here in Nashville that no one made sure he had a safe ride back to his hotel. His frat bros should not get a pass either. This is tragic. I just feel like with all of the greed and growth Nashville is losing it's soul. 😢
Why didn’t the bar staff notice that he had been roofied? He had one alcoholic beverage and two waters! Look at him staggering while he left that area. They kicked him out for being over intoxicated but he only had one drink while he was there! The Bar staff must be trained better! How many patrons have disappeared from that bar?
Was he kicked out for over intoxication? If the bar knew that he hadn’t been drinking, and none of the bartenders had been serving alcohol, wouldn’t you be concerned about what was wrong with your friend that hadn’t been drinking, but was acting like that? I mean, if this one drink thing is true
I’m glad they invested the bar over serving us a huge problem. I was a server they teach you to not over serve but u really only restrict if they become apparently intoxicated. But not everyone does right away.
He must have been given some drugs that made him walk and stumble like he was drunk. And his friends to let him go alone is heartbreaking. SHAME ON THEM ALL WHAT KIND OF BROTHERHOOD IS THAT???
Wait to you get all the facts before blaming his friends. A buddy of mine got thrown out of a country bar for being a drunk jackass picking fights etc. After an hour on the dance floor we noticed he was missing but dude was gone. He ended up in the police cells for two days while we searched for him. We all got major shit for “leaving him”. I said we didn’t even know he was gone until an hour later. He wandered off without us knowing looking for more drinks. Parents were freaking out yelling at us! Their idiot son was a freaking menace around booze.
Unfortunately, Riley is in the river. He was dangerously intoxicated and sustained a head injury that we see in the video. He stumbled around and accidentally fell. My heart goes out to the young man and his family.
yeah , that head injury looked significant enough to cause concussion . He was def. suffering after it, as shown in more video. You'd think people on the street would realize he needed help.
time to build a higher fence' in honor of riley strain, donated by Bryan luke's bar.. to prevent future young men they kick out to lose their life over' their policy...
The establishment is responsible as well It’s a young kid. Something they’re use to seeing - and need to be aware not to over serve He looked really out of it - If he’s use to partying with friends. May even be suspicious that he was THAT intoxicated Perhaps maybe he was given a drink from someone else and it had something in it ?
@@garypiatt4666We live in a society where covers are now being sold for you to take to bars and place on your glass so that no one slips drugs in to your beverage. We need to get tough on these drug offenders like they do in Asia.
@@kristinfitzpatrick57 And, he, most likely, intentionally drank too much. But, yes, servers do have a responsibility to not serve a visibly intoxicated person.
The way most people do it is you check into hotel with beer or liquor and have a few drinks before you do the bar hopping. This new information is more about Luke Bryan's going into damage control mode.
There have been hundreds of young men throughout the country that have gone missing! They have a series of the Happy face killer where most are found in water with a smiley face painted nearby.
So.... if a patron starts stumbling around like they're having an emergency situation.... the bar just throws them out on the street to fend for themselves????? What a bunch of jerks!!! 😢🙏💔
That fraternity the 10 boys!!! Left him basically for dead. You don’t think they might not have slipped him something?? Why did they run back to Missouri so quick. Not a single one stayed behind to help search. The 911 call the boy did not act scared at all just my buddy is missing. Not a person too worried.
Did he have his own room at the hotel? Then maybe thinking he was sleeping it off could account for not reporting him missing for many hours. If not, why so long? Getting stories straight or just sobering up. Such a sad story.
This is why Bars should not serve someone who is drunk so the fact they say he only got one drink doesn't matter it's obvious he was most likely Bar hopping. But one of his friends should have stayed with him not let him leave.
He has been drugged. Prayers to this poor boys family, and shame on everyone who let him walk out alone. Sickening how people take care of one another.
Fraternity “Brothers” seldom act like family when trouble is afoot. He should have never left that bar alone. That fraternity should have its charter revoked!
Why isn’t anyone mentioning Riley’s Apple Watch. He was wearing one when he went missing. They talk about where his phone last pinged, but nothing about his Apple Watch. Also, LE hasn’t mentioned the homeless man who was said be to be wearing the shirt Riley had on that night. LE is being very quiet lately.
He went to other bars first, ceck each one for how much he was served. Having said that. The bar isn't responsible for someone safety after they leave. But I bartended 30 years ago and call many cabs, and drove many home my self. Maybe a lesson to bars. You made them that way, help them home. I don't know why the buddy dumped him. He will have to live with that.
EVERYONE! this guy apparently had THC in his system at the time of his death. He was cross faded, which for someone who doesn't drink or smoke a lot, can REALLY mess you up. I'm sure he was blacked out drunk plus he was high, which is just a recipe for disaster. That's why in one of the clips, he looks absolutely dazed and confused. He had to have not known where he was going, tripped, then fell into the river and probably passed out in the water and died. poor guy :(
They must have been drinking at another location before they went into Luke Bryan’s. Most college students I know drink at home before going drinking out at a club. Club drinks can get pricey. Cheaper to start throwing back a few at home before hitting the bars.
The police saying that they do not suspect foul play is a very narrow minded statement but anything could have happened since he didn't have a real friend there to look out for him.. especially in a strange environment,,.. safety in numbers
Well people don't care it would not be newsworthy if he were not missing. Personally my 20s were in a university town with three bars per block I have never been cut off before last call and I typically would predrink before going to a bar too I always got home safe though unlike him. It's not illegal to get drunk but some predators obviously look for easier prey or have been known to drug victims too. People like me worked 40 hours and go out sometimes on the weekend or were students in class all week etc. maybe someone offered him a ride and he trusted the wrong person which sober people do sometimes too. I hope he turns up safe and people don't victim blame too much. You can have dozens of safe nights out on the town and then one night S.O.L.
Yeah that's my story and I'm sticking to it......1 drink? Well maybe, they most likely were bar hopping. Every drinking establishment should have cameras everywhere inside/out.
Are they basing it off his transaction history solely? Because he could've had additional drinks bought for him. Or, he could've been drugged. Because fraternities play games like that, don't they? Don't they mess with each other like that for laughs or as a hazing ritual? I hope everything is being considered. That frat bro who went back inside should feel awful. I mean, absolutely awful! He could've called him an Uber if he wanted to stay. In fact, groups should have a plan in place for anything going awry. Have your Uber plan and do not leave them until the driver arrives! It's not rocket science, ffs!
Those frat guys could've been bar-hopping in downtown Nashville all afternoon and evening. The bars down there are literally side by side for a couple of blocks. Luke Bryan's bar was the LAST one they went to, and it's no wonder they wouldn't serve him anymore in the shape he was in. You go to a bar at two in the afternoon, play a couple games of pool, drink a pitcher, then head over to the next one. Rinse and repeat for 7 hours, all within a 2 block range and no driving. He wasn't drugged, he was wasted on booze.
RIGHT ON.... NOBODY to blame BUT RILEY HIMSELF responsible for his behavior....enabling parents now on a cash grab path, to benefit from their foolishly raised sons death.
So where is he? Drunk guy cant get that far. Its dumb to just turf out someone that wasted who has no clue whats going on around them. Bar should have called the police.
Bars need to do some better training. It's obvious the bar and his friends are trying to cover their butts. You don't throw an inebriated person out on the street to fend for themselves. A missing student in my town left a bar, went to "friends" house, they let her walk home alone in the middle of the night - she's never been found. They weren't friends either. They will have to live with that the rest of their lives as will these "friends".
No that's a lie the bartender even wrote a statement saying he was over served there are cameras in that bar where's the footage they are hiding something
He may have bought one drink but I'll bet you money I don't have that other people bought him drinks too. Unless he was drugged, there ain't no way he would be staggering down the street because of ONE drink. There's so much about this story that stinks to high heaven. Someone is lying BIG TIME.
Lies. How would the bar staff even be able to recall his order. Broadway St is packed with drunk kids who all looked like him. They kicked a severely intoxicated person into the street alone. Why would they be telling the truth about drinks served :/ Anyway, it seems to make little difference where the alcohol came from. Something tragic happened. 😢
The parents should sue the police department. Such sloppy and negligent police work. They should have started to search that river right away. They could've found him days ago. Now his body is probably way down stream who knows where.
