KILLS ME that this perfection of craft isn't more beloved by the masses... The Progressive Rock demonstrated here, is LIFE, emotion, up, down, slow, fast. And always slightly different with each listen.
Could watch Axe go at this all day. He may have struggled to grasp Lopez's groove initially, but Watershed IMO has some of the best drumming moments in their catalogue. Despite his almost awkward style of play his fills are godlike!
Two years In your heart One moment of doubt Two lives Torn apart One second from now Held him In your arms Your fever subside Always safe from harm Kept demons inside Still you always start runnin' Touch the light From the moon Some way mother cried Left us space here
Ah . . . I remember getting up at 4 or 5 in the morning to watch the stream of this show, I was hoping that they would play something from Heritage. I don't think the artwork had even been released yet. Good times.
Ian Thomas what do you mean? He never said this song wasn’t from Watershed. He just said he wished they played something from Heritage cuz this was from 2011.
I was there with my eldest son who was celebrating his 16th birthday, opeth were amazing, watched bill Bailey then finished off with slipknot, happy memories.
@blackblurable: this is the new keyboardist his name is Joakim Svalberg. It's not Per Wiberg, they were both in the band in 2011. If i'm not mistaken this was one of the first shows with Joakim because Per quit a month before on April 6..and Heritage was released in 2011..depending on what country you reside it was released on different dates in September..(U.S. was on the 20th)
I am seeing them in December. It will be so awesome. They sound incredibly tight live. Porcupine Tree were incredible when I saw them last February, and I expect no less from their mates Opeth!
why the hell do they never show fredrik solo? any video i watch, it doesn't matter who is videoing the show (professional or amateur in the crowd) no one ever videos fredrik or his fingers when he solo's. i would like to actually see what he does when he melts my face off. just saying
@niljen92 PT are well worth paying the money to see. They're a very good live act. I am excited for Opeth, too. They are fantastic live (from what I've seen in videos)
@MetallicOpeth What you hear is the effect of people simply being too far away from the speakers. As sound takes time to travel to different distances from the PA speakers, there is a different phase delay of clapping in different parts of the crowd area. The effect of this is people all clapping in time to different phase lags but sounding out of time with others on the other side of the crowd area, thus it sounds out of time.
muy buenos tio. Gracias por subir el concierto :3 aunque me da rabia la mierda de edición que tiene el concierto con las cámaras, que no enfocan donde tienen que enfocar en ningún solo y enfocan cuando están afinando y tal... xDD
@MrGosmo I don't think that's because the quality of the guitar, I think Mikael and Fredrik are such audiophiles they feel the need to check their guitar tunning between songs and even in interludes
This and heir apparent are the best songs off watershed, I love jamming to those songs. Still Life still best Opeth album. Heritage was pretty weak. Some decent but not a strong album.
@MetallicOpeth it's not big deal, remember that you are in a metal concert, people clap, people scream, people get crazy, I prefer to stay quiet, I don´t give a fuck what others do.
I don't like the way it was recorded too many camera's trick, that's not a photo shoot session, we want to see Opeth live, and fucking great performer as they as always are !
Mikael is so tired to me,cause he've been marryed, and a he singer in bloodbath. In bloodbath Mikael never sang clean. Many live concert DVD's,10 album with Opeth.6 album with bloodbath.I'm afraid even imagine. :D
@mtduk yeah but there is the problem...they think that they keep up in time but they don't xD...that's the worst when they think that they know but they don't...it's so irritating...
It's not just the death growls that got lost with Heritage though, they pretty much ditched ALL the heavy distortion and chug riffs, etc...Heritage has some weird ass soft songs that go nowhere on it...that just aren't good...I mean I like some of them like Napenthe but the others are just so bad.
This is the old keyboardist and Heritage wasn't out until the next year. Lol. I'm glad this keyboardist is out. He sings like a pansy honestly. Doesn't complement Mikael's vocals at all. That's just me.
