No no, that would actually involve him planning out the content of his show to some degree. You don't want to mess with the perfect format that is, "Opie responds to fans that have even less interesting things to say than himself".
this was meant to mock the PD and lawyers at CBS. This was their K-rock show they did there for a while and CBS wouldn’t let them do ANYTHING by this point in their contract, cbs also heavily censored them. So as a F-you to the station they decided to make every day of the weak some crappy hack bit. I think they had “cat meow Monday” at some point. Lol
BUT PHONE CALLS ARE OPIES BREAD AND BUTTER.THE TIMING OF THE PHONE CALLS SUGGESTS HE WAS VERY JEALOUS AND HATED THE CONNETION HE HAD WITH JIMMY AND PATRICE AND ANY OTHER FUNNY COMEDIAN THAT WAS MAKING GREAT RADIO.THIS CAN NOT BE DISPUTED AND OPIE SHOULD CONSIDER HIMSELF LUCKY AND GRATEFUL THAT HE HAD GUYS WITH PERSONALITY THAT COULD CARRY THE DAY ON THE Radio.you could almost feel the insecurities of opie through the radio when the guys were making the listeners laugh.he would intentionally try to sabotage the show when he was feeling left out and one of his main go to moves was to go to the phone during a funny bit.
Listen to the Evo phone dispute the uploaded also did, Opie was out sick and Ant was at the helm, he does some good shit on the phone callers, ugh we want to hear the talent not a jerkoff like myself lol
