In Opie’s defense, he didn’t directly stab someone in the back to get where he did. And he was a conduit bringing talented, funny people together. Sam, on the other hand… what has built? As an intern he was occasionally funny instigating stuff but ultimately he’s been a detriment, riding the coattails of the O&A brand, serving the rotten leftovers while making himself a millionaire. He’s done nothing but make those leftovers spoil faster. Opie, at least initially, had a concept, put some unsung comedic geniuses together in the same room. He gradually morphed into a despicable human being over time, but Sam always was one. He’s truly a lackey who’s been nothing but be an entropic force, ultimately. Gotta say Sam is more hatable.
at no point was it clear that he was doing a bit. that's just you trying to blindly reinterpret your hero's actions into something a lot less douchey than what it was. louis ck is awesome, but if you actually listened you would know he can be quite the pretentious tool too.

Wow, I just realized Opie was right and Jim was lying about not knowing about the hair. Because Ant misquoted a Joe DeRosa joke from the day before “not Slim Shady“ but got it wrong and said fat shady but then when Jimmy repeated it he said “not slim shady“ which meant he had been listening or at least heard it afterwards. A useless observation on my part but whatever.
Honestly, people who bleach their hair are lame, but people like these who make fun of them are even lamer. It takes some level of actual balls to bleach your hair, knowing that you will get ripped for it.
