I just realized that it's not that Jim doesn't laugh like this anymore, it's that this was Jim & Ant using expensive, top-of-the-line broadcasting equipment owned by a major radio network. It had to have given them a level of confidence and freedom that you just don't get when you're in your home podcasting with hardware you bought yourself (especially when you're visible as well). Plus in a radio station, you're not worried about breaking anything because it's all insured, and there are employees whose job it is to repair/replace it quickly. Even Compound Media's equipment isn't as high-quality as a radio station's would be.
That has nothing to do with it. Also, breaking equipment from laughing? You're wrong about equipment too. It's 2023 my man. Equipment for everything audio related is affordable now compared to back then. One of the most popular microphones used in radio and podcasting, the Sure SM7b is only $350. Most other things are software-based now and can be run from a laptop. Jim was just a young aspiring comedian at the time, full of life. Life eventually wears on you. I don't think any of them are doing exactly what they want to be doing now. Maybe Anthony is but I don't think Jim is and so maybe he's not as happy as he was then. That plays a big part on your mood.
