This is some of the best stuff right here because when you have the video that they shot linked up with their audio it makes the experience that much better you can really see what they're laughing at like when Opie brought in his demo tapes when he was on TV up in Rochester and some other stuff they did.
Thing is, I like Opie in some bits, but by himself, he is awful. I would say Jimmy is the only saving grace, but even he realizes the old way of doing things is long gone.
True. I'm a late comer to the show. About a year before ant was fired. Some I'm a bit biased through going over the decades of stuff. But both the O&J and TACS seem so stale compared, more so Opie and Jim. I'd so much prefer Jim and Ant but even with Jim on once a month on TACS with the new studio doesn't seem to gel. Guess I'll have to be happy with indulging in the past over the present. Oh, fuck the Stangles too. Easy bro, tss ☺

The first part was filmed at Shoppers World 🌎 in Framingham,MA. In those days the WAAF studio was in Westboro,MA. They were building the “new” Shoppers World after tearing down the old one with the huge dome on Jordan Marsh. Completely changed the whole area down in that area and tore down the old cinema and built the new on between there and Natick Mall.
The funny thing is there is actually a difference, and that he was arguably better back then. Relisten some of the oldest WNEW recordings and he sounds like a different person. A lot more energy, decent chemistry and less autism.

In every real rock tv skits opie always has to be the center of attention. All focus is on him and it's a good thing that he didnt have to do any reading cause he cant pronounce words properly.

This clip is a reminder of why I loved Opie so much. He actually used to lead the pack and lead the bits WITHOUT trampling over Anthony (or Jimmy). He was actually a loveable and funny goof. Then at some point after the SiriusXM merger, IMO he changed and it all fell on Ant.
yeah, ive been relistening to certain bits where opie shines, and its endearing cause you know he is just a damaged guy. he just cant get over his insecurities now and it makes him insufferable.
It's hilarious that none of these clips make any sense at all comedically or logically but at the time they thought they were so edgy... well, which they probably were back then in the 90's now that I think about it.
It appears that Opie thinks he's the only one capable of creative thought.. When Anthony continues to comment on the video, Opie accuses him of seeing Opie's commentary on it already, as if it's impossible for anyone to have the same comment about the video without copying Opie's commentary
