I think it's a 50/50 thing. I think at the core Patrice believed what he was saying, but seeing Joe lose his shit over it made him over-exaggerate just how much he thought those movies sucked.
Psycho is good but birds doesn't hold up and vertigo is this movie that people hear other people say is one of the greatest movies ever so they just repeat what someone else said. Meanwhile its just a boring movie you can't wait to end and it doesn't make sense
cody8804 Hitchcock’s movies are of there time certainly, so I can see why people don’t like them. I like Psycho and Rear Window. The rest are so so for me, as far as enjoyment. But I appreciate them on a technical level, especially for the time.
I'm not trying to be that guy but vertigo's actually a fucking great movie imo. Twist holds up and it has one of the best openings I've ever seen in a film if that era.
