What a refreshingly pleasant convo you guys've been havin... goes to show the power and love of hip-hop... with somma that Patrice genius sprinkled on top.
Cries when I acknowledge that Ant used a funny black stereotype, accuses me of a white stereotype of a meth-addicted upbringing. You SJWs are hypocrites interested purely in your own agenda.
That joke was super trash and would imply white people are too busy working to hear pop and rock music too.It wasn't even worth a comeback from Patrice
Now thats classic! Thanx for that! Didnt even know where it came from.. Wow,Biz took it line for line on the hook.. Great song from Freddie, and great cover/hip hop song from Biz
You know what, I played Vice City and San Andreas, so I consider myself to be pretty well-versed in hip-hop. Or at least enough to get by, should the topic come up in conversation. Hopefully some day I'll meet a black person and I'll put my knowledge to the test.
I watched the "Planet Rock" documentary four years ago, and it enlightened my white ass on this music. I feel special for knowing almost all those beats by heart, they were all in planet rock, a great docu on hip hop in the crack era. I recommend it highly.
rock music came from Jazz. simple as that. there wouldnt be rock music like there is today if it wasnt for black artists creating the sound and white artists stealing it and making it mainstream. it kills me when i see kids singing the Nirvana cover of 'where did you sleep last night' and knowing they have no idea who the fuck Leadbelly was.
KandaPanda Who cares? Most kids wouldn't like the Leadbelly version of the song anyway lol.I I know I definitely like the Nirvana cover a lot more than the original. I'm 17 & like a lot of blues but for some reason I don't really enjoy LeadBelly at all.
It's good that Opie is pouncing on the name and artist of every white song mentioned and then babbles over every rap song played. That makes for excellent balance in the clip. They might know the artists if he actually let the song play.
krs1 is pure classic rap distilled to the essence..all them rappers nowadays would be lucky to have a drop in their diluted auto tuned liquid manure. /m/, ,\m\
90s rappers is the best era by far. All of the best rappers started in the 90s. It always blows my mind when young kids say they hate old hip hop, but love that terrible mumble rap. We can only pray it goes away soon.
i may be years on from the original posting of this but.... i think it was Anthony jus said "i listened to black TALK radio, Gary Bird." Now THERE'S a deep cut i'll give him props for.... but still...not knowing Melle Mel or KRS 1 !!!????!!!! Sheeesh
Yeah but it doesn't count because Patrice nailed him on why he listens to it... To hate on black people and use Bird as evidence on why white people should be worried about them.
im white and i know south bronx was a battle reply to mc shan, a lot of hip hop ppl know krs one as the teacher, hes is the most intelligent rapper to ever make it that far, and i can understand patriice getting pissed, rip
You hate rap, but I bet you can't name 6 respectable rapper/ rap groups. That's like me saying I hate Rock music, and the only band I have ever listened to, was Nickleback.
I feel bad that I dont like most 80's rap.. I just cant get into it man, 90's rap is my shit though. Gangsta Rap and Mafioso Rap is my shit, I know all about the rappers he mentions but I just cant get into it. Sorry Patrice I have failed you.
I like old school hip hop, but I'm sad to say that I never really heard many of these songs. Jazz Rap's more my style. Not knowing who did The Message though... that's pretty low O&A.
