I hear you on this, but then again I'm the madman that double sleeved all of my commander decks as pretty much all my play happens at card shops.

This is what annoys me about people using secret rare cards when playing in tournaments.

Oh really? I didn't knew. I never was caught by a judge in the past 20 years of playing TCG's for marking my resource cards in yellow sleeves and my other cards in black. It's what @Topegi TCG says; for the demonstration it would've been better so people can really see the randomization in the stack of cards, rather than only seeing the cards being shuffled. I've had discussions many times, even while playing Hold 'em Poker that riffle shuffles were bad and not good for the deck.

i come late to the party, but, waterfall shuffling imo is the best method overall for competitive yugioh, you randomize everything and avoid ruining your staples in the process

@@wren5413 well, it worked for me anyways, pile shuffling just stacks your cards, doesn't randomize anything

that's because after setting up 6 prizes, active pokemon + 7 in hand your deck is lower than even 50 cards

He also makes the argument that when mash shuffling you might not get even piles of cards in each hand before you mash shuffle. My question is (just like you) how is that any different than riffle shuffling? Wouldn't you still have the possibility of having uneven stacks? I would love to meet the person that can perfectly cut a deck of cards every single time.

Number Six see i can mash shuffle and get the same randomness as riffle, the trade-off is, it ruins my sleeves. Over and over the corners break from forcing them in... But riffle shuffle ruins the cards unless youre super careful, so i just take my time while doing it, and dont do a big bridge at all. I dont have a single bent card and i sometimes shuffle them just to keep myself from being bored lmfao.

That's the main reason I like the gloss Dragon Shield. You don't have to use much force at all to mash.

it doesnt, they just demonstrated that 7:29 , with riffle you mix the entire two halves, with mash theres a pile that isnt mixed at all

I have two full arts in my deck so I try to shuffle carefully whenever I use something like ultra ball

I am a seniors and i can riffle a double sleeved 100 cards

As a general courtesy, I've never riffled my opponent's deck in a tournament. I mindlessly did it one time on accident, and I instantly realized what I had done and apologized to the player across me. He wasn't upset because he recognized it wasn't a malicious attempt to damage his cards, but I've definitely seen players flip out when they riffle someone else's deck. To add, I also flinch slightly when another player riffles my cards, even though I aggressively riffle my own, because I feel the same courtesy I extend should be extended by everyone. Also, thank you for turning your head when shuffling your opponent's deck. I find it extremely frustrating when people look straight down when shuffling when a big chunk of stacking/cheating is avoided by simply looking over your shoulder for a few seconds.

If you ask someone not to riffle your deck, they shouldn't do it. It's disrespecting you and your property. I don't think it's enforceable, but it's certainly a bad thing to do.

i have never had to replace a card from riffling - they always work fine in a sleeve

huh, no one ever replied sleeves are required because unless a card is mint(which they will never be after one game) all cards having whitening and can be easily identified sleeves do make it slippery too.
