The atom bomb was actually constructed at the Los Alamos National Laboratory and tested in New Mexico. But the 3 labs that helped create the atom bomb were Los Alamos, New Mexico (LANL), Oak Ridge, Tennessee (Secret City) and Hanford/Richland in Washington state.
Correct. Oak Ridge is one of the places where the uranium was enriched, the other being Hanford. The character played by Matt Damon, Gen. Groves, was the guy who founded Oak Ridge for that purpose, so we'll probably see that in the movie.
Looks like a great movie - but for accuracy puzzled why the bombs explosive blocks are shown being handled like they don’t weigh much - well known that these were almost the weight of concrete and a chain-hoist and suction cup system was used to assemble them. Same thing where two men are shown “one handing” the insertion of the 105 pound core cylinder which was also actually done with a chain-hoist.
The O is not long... the O is pronounced as in the word cop....so glad u guys know American history ...👍... and thank you for the illuminating analysis and in-depth thoughts on what the movie was even about..... thank goodness for the internet because how would anybody ever know anything.. I mean it's not like we learned any of this stuff in School..sigh🙄🙄🙄
Well, we lived next to Oak Ridge, where they were partially working on it. Btw instead of being a pretentious know it all I could come up with a dozen facts about animals you probably don't know. I guess you should've studied harder.
Hi, hey, two things: First of all, your name is "jrzygurl", so please don't pipe up Second, what even is your point? That people should be educated about history? If so, I hardly see why the "..." and the 🙄 are necessary. And they are LITERALLY viewing a trailer about quite the educational movie. Seriously, settle down XD (and yes I know this was a month ago but seeing unnecessary passive aggressive stuff makes me pouty)
