Had the Oppo about a month and have been extremely impressed with it. Camera quality is great, the display is amazing, and that fast charging is extremely convenient. I got the free gifts as well which sweetened the deal. Plus it has more base storage and RAM than competitors, not to mention a charger in the box. Highly recommended!

Though I enjoy several brands/os’s, I am a HUGE proponent of Samsung. Always have, always will. However, I recently purchased an iPhone 13 Pro Max due to the deal I received from my phone carrier. I have to say it is a pleasant experience. At the same time, I have grown fond of Oppo and their new Find X5 Pro. It might be the best Android device currently available (even when compared to the S22 Ultra). I feel Oppo’s tie to China is the reason most people shy away from the company. Oppo should leave BBK and set up shop in another country lol.

Its not the reason someone should avoid the Phone since its made and Chinese owned. Tech is tech and who produces the best and and price point deserves attention. We all know Huawei as a security threat was fabricated and it was a market competition the US feared from Huawei. UK minister's and some of the MI6 were told to follow suit or otherwise by the US. Its Scum like these that destroy competition at the sake of making the US great again.

Actually Oppo, BBK electronics and Vivo work hand-in-hand. BBK electronics is just the parent company for Namesake. Nothing else. The whole business is run by Oppo and Vivo and their sub-brands

The two best phones released in 2022 IMHO. Probably down to specific features or OS of choice. With my Exynos S22U being a bit of a mess still I feel that I will sell and buy the OPPO when it drops in price or even get the Find X5 which is £350 less and a bit of a bargain.

Oppo phones are absolutely amazing. I bought a cheaper one to use for a while, when I found myself without a phone and I liked it a lot.. so instead of jumping into a new contract I bought a better oppo.. the X3 lite. I fell in love! For the price I was blown away, and on top of everything you get, the fast charging is just 👌 now I'm ready to upgrade I'm going to get the x5 pro. I looked at the new iphones and they are just boring to me now :) it's only a matter of time before Oppo get popular and expensive so I'm going to enjoy it whilst it lasts haha

How do you manage to get 2 days battery on the Oppo? I just got it, and I am finding that I am down to about 25% battery about 10pm after taking it off charge at 7am. Do you have any specific optimisations? One thing, is that I use a samsung watch for my notifications, and drive for about 30 mins to 1hr per day with android auto wireless. I only use about 3 hours SOT so kinda disappointed as my old Huawei P40 Pro was easily getting 2 days (it had barely any standby drain). The oppo seems to lose around 2% per hour when not being used.

It will take around 2-3 weeks for your battery to learn how you use the phone and will then get significantly better.

@@bustercolin7507 yes you are absolutely right. Battery life is awesome now! Either 7-8 hours SOT in a single day during heavy use or 2 full days of low-moderate use with about 4hours sot.

Oppo Find X5 Pro and most high-end Android smartphones can be unlocked with face or fingerprint, unlike iPhone which gives you only face unlock. Also, the white ceramic does not show any fingerprint at all.

I have said this before the deal breaker for me in not buying an Oppo phone is that you pay a flagship price for lack of software support for both Android updates and security patches. I stand corrected if this has now changed. 🤷‍♀ I cetainly like the quality of their phones now but the latter concerns me.

I was thinking about getting the oppo but no-one seems to know if it allows you to watch HD content from Netflix and amazon prime. Last year, I returned my xiaomi and Google 6pro because of this strange issue and even then couldn't get a straight answer from anyone! Really would appreciate if someone with any sort of knowledge regarding this would be able to help.

The one thing you can take from this is, mobiles manufactured for the Chinese Market are technically superior. Vivo and Sharp flagships are worth looking at too I have never been a fan of Apple in the way they market things. Next time I upgrade I will be moving from Samsung. Their partnership with Hasselblad should help.

I find it worth noting that the OPPO find x5 pro AND x5 have 120Hz refresh rates, while only the Iphone 13 pro and pro max have ‘Promotion’.

'ProMotion' is just Apple's brand name for adaptive refresh rate. Find X5 Pro has it too. But you're right, I could have highlighted that more in my script.

If they are similar in terms of specs, the only other way to compare them is price. Where I live, the oppo costs half what the iphone costs. Its a no brainer for me.

I own both. Give me the oppo all day every day over the iPhone.....The oppo beats it on everything except benchmarks. However the oppo is faster and smoother in every day use. The oppo camera is better , the screen smashes the iPhone, the design in oppo is much better. Media looks.toms better on oppo. The design on oppo is way better.

Oppo is great, but i wish they had dual led flash. Poco makes brighter photos in dark settings with that. Overall as a phone the 5x pro is a winner.

You won't find much difference from Oppo. Making a photo brighter in night mode doesn't make the night mode photo better . Everything boils down to the sensors being used and the way the phone processes the image. And having used both Xiaomi and Oppo phones, i personally find the image processing of Oppo much better in every price segment.

On the used market, they're practically the same price give or take. I cant quite fathom when you consider everything, why you'd buy an Oppo AT THAT PRICE range given how great the iPhone is at pretty much everything spec-wise. Thats not even including iPhone's better software updates, better app ecosystem and better hardware ecosystem that's open to you. Once the value of the Oppo drops to around 500-600, then its a different story.

BUT You also forgot apple’s reliability, ability to visit a physical store, more third party accessories, guaranteed updates for over 5 years and closer to ten, higher resale value, a focus on privacy (android collect all your data and filter it through google making YOU the product), you also forgot leading biometric security. Don’t get me wrong, I hate Apple and find their phones boring. But they gave real advantages.

Oppo will lose the resale value overnight, whereas you could easily sell the iPhone 3 years later at about 60% of the original price. For Oppo, you either gift it to a relative or retire it as scrap. Plus, I really don't trust their SW updates and longevity.

Neither!! sent them both back and got the s22 ultra(in the uk) away better than them both!!! x5 screen to small 2 narrow, and not bright enough outside in the sun, speakers r poor not loud enough, user interface never liked and had a software bug that even a factory reset could not fix and Oppo UK said that should not happen with a new phone but it did!! and has a very poor zoom for 2022!! the apple dont even go there!! thanks.

I sent the S22 Ultra back, shutter lag makes the camera useless to me. Pets/kids end up a blurry mess with just a little movement, video quality is far behind the iPhone and dynamic range below most of the competition. Tons of highlight clipping, GPS issues etc.

You knew it had only 2 times zoom before you bought it and we don't get hardly any sun in the UK. There will always be bugs to begin with, you have to wait for them to bring out software updates to get rid of them.

Hey iPhone users! Put Macrodroid on an Oppo 5 and then come back to me when you've programmed the thousands and thousands of tweaks you can do to an Android like the Find X5 or ROG 6 Pro........ simple answer - don't bother trying. Apple have got you by the shorts and you do what THEY say with your 1000 quid+ device....... LOL
