The wild dog colour palette was a good choice. Most desert dwelling canines tend to be just a singular, solid colour which is a little on the boring side. Wild dog colours have a little more pop to them.
Would have actually loved to try the spots too but there's already so many little things going on on them that I felt like it would have drove me mad to do x_x
I would like to see the Jackal Shaman like Obi-Wan Kenobi. Red on the top of the head and around the muzzel and the robes the colour of his Jedi robes. Well I would like to paint it like that, but I am not at that skill level yet.
When I was looking up tuskan raider pictures, there was one that had the addition of a black and deep red to their outfit like a shawl, so my plan was to go for that for the Shaman. I did all their fur at the same time though so that's already done regardless, maybe I'll be able to Kenobi up one of the other leaders from the next release 😸
@@PaintmanJourneying in the One Page Rules discourse, these Jackals are not very strong as an Army. So maybe not going to paint up an Army. I am honestly kind of sad :(.
@@Dro250 I think the way you get around that is to use them like Kroot are used in 40K, as allies. It makes total sense for their lore and allows ya to fit them in to shore up some melee in more shooty lists. they are space hitch hikers so a unit wont be out of place with Most of the armies, specially when you consider most armies don't have the same hang ups in OPR lore that they do in 40K about who's a friend and who isn't.
Of all the OPR models I've done, these were perhaps some of the most difficult, but also most enjoyable to paint. They took me a long time but at no point did I ever get bored and want to just get it over with. So I say it's a 100% worth it investment!
These are what turned me . Subscribed yesterday, shopping for printers this month. I’m painting mine as a FREAKIN LOMBAX. All my ratchet n clank dreams coming true.
Hate to bug ya again, but if you had to pick out some premade colors - Vallejo, Army Painter, Citadel, etc - to recreate the fur with, what would you go for? I'm having a really hard time mixing up/picking out good colors!
Well they are One Page Rule's answer to Kroot, though a separate army. So if you play kill team, they should be easy to get a 1:1 'Kroot' Team out of. Or for Grimdark future: Firefight from OPR, though as Jackals in that case. I could see making a nice desert diorama out of them too. Or just painting them for the fun of it, cause they were fun!
@@PaintmanJourneying Yeah i used kill team though not necessarily meant the game. Just a one of each would be a nice set to have. Definitely a desert or destroyed future diorama would be cool.
The Paints I use here are Jo Sonja's, but I stick to single pigments so they work across paint lines. So the Yellow Oxide, any pure Pigment Yellow 42, should be very close. The red oxide is a bit more problematic since it can vary between lines what pigment they actually use, and within that pigment code, usually PR101, they can vary as well. So for this one I used Jo Sonja Indian Red Oxide, but Kimera Colours red oxide is really close to it as well. Any Darker earthy red should work though.
I print on a Mars 3 with polyjuice water washable resin. However since this video that resin is no longer available so had to change to different brand of waterwashable resin. Now I get it from a place called Spool 3D and it's their in house brand.
