I just finished reading this book, tears are absolutely flowing from my eyes. The level of injustice and racism documented in Hinton's book has made me drop to my knees. Everyone needs to read this book. What Hinton experienced is beyond comprehension and an absolute travesty. We have a lot of work to do in America and within the justice system. Racism and injustice must stop! I can not express the amount of respect and admiration I have for Mr. Hinton. His grace, faith, and trust in God are an inspiration to many. May God richly bless this beautiful man!

I’ve just finished reading the book. It is so outrageous and inhumane what Ray had to go through. This feeling of injustice towards blackpeople, gay people, and so on is one of that I have often felt in Brazil for being both black and gay. I couldn’t hold my tears after reading about Ray being set free and read more and more about Lester’s loyalty and friendship with Ray. This was one of the happiest moments in my life reading a book.

Well done Ray! One of the best true story books I ever read. God knows how many times I cried, this book is very touchy made me emotional. This book shows you how broken and biased system we have. Sometimes, I felt I was with him in prison. I can't imagine how hard is on Ray to not only lost 30 years of his age; but also how hard could be in a death row. I admired Ray's strength, help hope all these years and how he forgave his enemies. I love it , I love it, I love it.... May God bless the rest of his life , Lester and Bryan. Lester is an example of a true friend. I would say, may be we can find a person like Lester one in a Billion.

His life nor being incarcerated won't be in vain. His story is going to heal, help and set those in prison free(cases re-opened). Greater things for you Mr. Hinton! I see your compassion and your heart. I will be getting your book and Continued blessing in your life. Thank you Oprah!! #imfreetogotomaui

An issue that is not being addressed is how the criminal justice system will not back down when they know they have falsely accused a human being of a crime he/she did not commit. They will keep pushing forward and make up things that are not true and hold onto it like it is the truth. God bless this man all those who have been falsely accused.

It was Dr. Martin Luther King Day...few weeks ago...year 2018...I asked one of my students what were we commemorating today, and the answer was "I don't know"...then I asked, "Who was Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.", and the answer was: " l had no idea"...Don't get me wrong...this was a language adult class in the USA....My student was not an illiterate person but a corporation top executive. Seeing this interview made understand many things about civil rights and the history of the USA.

I would like every person who believes that people of colour should just move on... and "get over it". To listen to this story... to realize how racism can affect and is affecting so many.... It still makes my skin crawl how a person can hate another human so much.. I was born the year he had been convicted... if i had been borne to his generation, I fear my fate would not have been any different to his.

Ines De La Hoya And trust me that was not a coincidence, because they are besties, for style or a fashion statement. Yellow, the color of sunshine, hope, and happiness, has conflicting associations. On one hand yellow stands for freshness, happiness, positivity, clarity, energy, optimism, enlightenment, remembrance, intellect, honor, loyalty, and joy, but on the other, it represents cowardice and deceit. Wearing this color was Symbolic. The Sun is yellow As in his book "The Sun does Shine. And on the opposite end of the spectrum are those involved in the deceit that lead to this appalling story! God Bless Him and let it come right back around to them.

Wamuyu Gatheru I cringed each time Gayle touched this man's knee. After a dozen times, I stopped counting. It was excessive -- it was very improper and on a few occasion she actually rested her hand on his thigh....not simply tapping him.
