Supposed to let the sealants bond to the paint for at least 24 hours before exposing to water etc.

At least 2 hours would have made a big difference.

Not for the smallest bottle you can use the opti-seal with a wet rag and 2 to three sprays

@@juanwawajones - Biggest benefit is applying to a dry surface with a foam applicator, wiping off remaining high spots, and let set for at least an hour. I have Opti-Seal on all of my car, including the windshield. It's been on my car since August, and even using the occasional wiper it's still on there. I applied it to my wife's Jeep one morning in October, and by the time she got home it was all gone. Dry application, and a bit of cute time makes a huge difference.

Just for your knowledge opti-seal is recommended to apply going in circles even by the designer Ivan Lecroix

I feel like I was expecting more .. 😂 but it was nice seeing that short beading. Maybe longer shots of the water beading would’ve been nice / a close up of the beads. In terms with applying these in circle motion .. waxes & sealants don’t have any abrasive properties in them so there is no way they will cause scratches. Only a dirty applicator pad/foam pad will do this. So whether you apply up and down side to side or circles ; you won’t inflict damage. Overall good vide keep up the work 👊🏾

I would not spray quick detailer first it contains a waxy like residue which will inhibit the sio2 sprays from bonding properly.

I would probably Double the amount you applied of the Opti and Reload. Looked a little skimpy to me. Seemed like you used more than enough of the 845. I'm interested in trying the Reload. How well does it work on glass and how is it if you barely touch some black plastic trim? I hate getting carnauba wax on black trim. What product do use use 3 to 4 months later to remove the old Reload that's left on the paint before you apply a fresh layer?
@jasonfournier

It is not for glass. Streaky. It is fine on all trims.

There are lots of good informative videos on each of the ones you tried to use. You should watch some and get the information correctly, 1 fyi is Collinte is a wax and needs to dry to a hase before you wipe off. Good clear video though lol

Not everyone has that luxury Moving in straight lines gives you a little extra protection against swirling if any grit is picked up during the wax application and buffing step, and everyone knows that marring in straight lines is much easier to remove than circular hologram type marring. And definitely show some more water beading action in future videos!

Can 845 be used on glass ?

After a denomination cleaning and polish to the paint, then I use hyrdo2 first then reload then colinte845 as topcoats for an ultimate package deal.

Opti-Seal At around four months: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-hhwDKGg9mZM.html Still going strong on its fifth month as well. I have to admit to being very surprised it's still beading and sheeting. I honestly don't get it. I used to get poor performance from it.

collinite is a carnauba wax not a sealant the reload is an sio2 based sealant and Opti Seal is a polymer sealant and longevity claims are biased at best because of many different factors. Basically for daily drivers that are not garaged in this order from least amount of protection to most it's Opti Seal, collinite then reload in that order

John Emmel Collinite contains both Brazilian carnauba and synthetic polymers.
@blowersin5133

John Emmel Collinite 845 is actually considered a synthetic wax, that's why it haves such durability. But yeah I agree that these are differents types of products the Collinite one is a synthetic wax while the Opti Seal is a sealant and Reload I would call it a SiO2 QD
@danlc95

@@blowersin5133 - A user-friendlier version of the No. 476s paste, No. 845 stands as Collinite’s most legendary product to date. Famous for its versatility, durability and DIY ease of use, “IW” is ideal for both small and large surface area jobs where lasting protection and timely job completion are desired, but hard buffing and frequent reapplication are not practical. Leaves behind carnauba shine and durable polymer coating that preserves finish and shields against the elements; UV, rain, snow, salt, dust, dirt, grime, bugs, staining and more. It contains Carnaube and Polymers.

Reload... Not a fan of that stuff. I wanted to like it, but it just doesn't last. 845 is good, but for the effort, I'd rather use Optimum Car Wax. Opti-Seal has been on my car since August and now in December it's still going strong on my daily driver. Not the prettiest beads, but I'm not really worried about that because no LSP I've ever used keeps thos beads indefinitely.
@FlipnKraut
@FlipnKraut 6 лет назад
First of all, only 845 could be considered a wax and even then its a synthetic. And then you called it a sealant. Its not a sealant. The other 2 are. So you even say that it’s recommended one spray per panel for opti seal and reload but yet you still do two... That’s not demonstration purposes, that’s just being dumb. Also the amount of 845 you used is probably enough to do half of the entire truck.

30 bucks for snake oil?..lmao Show me a sealant that allows tree sap to rinse right off a car then it is a real sealant / bearer and then and only then is the shit worth $30 bucks. If no sap is left stuck on the car after a quick rinse or rain then it's a true sealant as the sap failed to penetrate to the paint to stick. I say prove this fact with any so called car sealant!!! It's doing no more than a cheap bottle of walmart car wax will do for you and most likely it's doing much less than one would since Collinite wax outlasts both the sprays and only lasts a few months and pine sap stays on a car long after Collinite is gone I know because it won't wash off mine and it no longer beads at all either. Everything is gone but the damn sap...lol
@leschar1
@leschar1 6 лет назад
Harry Balls pine sap will eat through clear coats so obviously it's going to eat through a sealant if it sits too long. These aren't miracle products.
