1000imp? Well im running my bit wayy to slow i guess, no wonder its burning, its a 2+2 resurfacing bit.i like to take off small .02-.05 as well..at 12kRPMs what feed rate would you reccomends for a amana RC-2251 bit?. 350?-400imp?
That would defeat the purpose of a spoil board and make it twice as hard to achieve a vacuum. Cuts into a spoil board are inevitable and even with a bunch of cuts can still hold a vacuum pretty well if you block off the unused portions of the table. Also fly cutting the boards when you first get them will produce an accurate flat table and you won't need to cut deeper than the material you're cutting.
