Siege doesn't respond quite as well to flat refines due to that reduced siege range. Just based on buffs, lower tier siege will get a larger buff, but due to the siege range, higher tier range will typically be stronger. If you are going to build low tier siege and flat refine, I would suggest going heavier on t11 and t9s, but I haven't done a ton of experimenting with siege flat refines. Let me know what you find out.

T9/10 if and only if you have the siege ranged ring/bracers from civilization gear. Otherwise with gear of Ares, achaemenidae and bellow, stick with t11 seige and up

Yeah, this civ gear for siege range seems to be making all the difference nowadays... I don't have it.. I want my siege to help defend against Range Rally. Thanks for the advice everyone

Thanks 🙏. You can mix flats and %s, but it really depends how much upper tier you have whether the %s will be effective. If you don't have a ton of upper tier, it'll likely all be taken in a solo anyways, so it's better to ghost the upper tier cavs

Agreed, especially with the crazy level of attack buffs these days, battle mechanics were completely broken

True, it doesn't make someone good at defense, but at least you aren't seeing all 2b people zeroed in one hit. That was not a fun time (even as someone on the attacking side)

Flat refines are the biggest difference for t1s so it would depend on what higher tier troops you have that would need buff %s from the assistant General

Are you asking as an assistant wall gen? In that case I think epamino for the mount hp buffs

It can be pretty annoying I agree, but a lot of t1 keeps don't have flat refines so they are much weaker

Flat refines are using the whole number refines instead of the percentage ones. For example Mounted HP +1198 instead of Mounted HP +25%

I think a bigger rally might have done better against you, 10m is kinda small, but it's really hard to know without knowing all the details. If you're going positive, you're doing it right 👍

@@OptimizEvony yeah I'm still small less than a bill power I got like 45mill t1 mounts I'm using Leonidas as main with Boudica as asst and have 2 pieces koryo 2 pieces Abbas and 2 ach for wall gear

A positive power exchange is not the same as a positive point exchange. It can be an indicator, but for example a t8 troop has a 1.6 power to point rate, while a t14 has a 0.4 power to point rate. This means while they lose far more power when they are losing a t14 the t14 on a power by power comparison is less. So it really depends on the troop tiers that are being lost, and the troop counts will mater because you will break into more of those middle tiers when you kill/wound more troops. (note the better power to point rates are on the extremes t14 to t12 are all under 1, t1 is the only other under 1). Note, this is all in reference to SVS, I haven't looked at the point rates for battlefields as it doesn't seem to come up quite as often overall.

I would say low power trap keeps are under 2b, but it depends what stage of the game your server is in

It's pretty difficult, the main way to defend well against siege is having a good amount of high tier siege and good buffs, but that will be difficult with a low power t1 trap

@@OptimizEvony for T1 traps refine on wall are you doing attacks refine on mounted as well or just HP/defense only?

@@palevelmode I don't do flat attack refines because I have a lot of higher tier troops, but if you are trying to have your t1 troops be the main killing troop, flats would be good
