It's for precisely this reason that kilocalorie, when abbreviated without the first four letters, is capitalized as "Calorie" whereas the regular calorie is spelled just "calorie." You can check this yourself; go to any nutrition label and you'll notice that every instance of the word is capitalized.
I have drank more than three cups of water multiple times in an hour. Never new that was bad. I've done it will spinching and never died I downed two 500ml bottles of water while binging tons of food. So it makes me wonder if you're a bigger person (I'm a normal weight according to the BMI though) if you need more water than smaller people.
Dr.mcgregor i was wondering if you could do a possible future video on althetic anmennorea and whether it's a real danger or not? I don't fully understand why women at a healthy bmi but no period is a bad thing. Can you please do a video on this topic???
Thank you for making a video on this. I recently discovered myself I was dehydrated, causing my body to retain fat regardless of what diet I went on. Going vegan did help (which I'm currently not doing), I imagine because of the water inside the food. I do worry about drinking too much water. But so far I don't think I'm having issues
I think the paper made no mistakes because the abreviations is "kcal" in nutrition not "cal" so 6,55kcal=6550calories.

Is it possible to have chronicle thirst? I’m always thirsty, even if I drink plenty of water. How can I get a diagnosis? I’m kind of afraid to go to a nutritionist who doesn’t know how to diagnose my condition (not that I have the same chronicle thirst, probably is just bad diet). What should I do if I’m always thirsty?
Can you please create a video translating the recommended water minimum / maximum per day and maximum per hour, using millilitres. The term "glasses" and "cups" is very confusing as this could be 8oz or 12oz.
A cup is equal to 8 ounces so I would say that's what he is referring to. Doctors give kind of a basic guideline. Seems really low what he's saying. I think he's just trying to stay on the safe side. Doctors overall on the average kill millions of people. This doctor that I hardly know is doing basic bloodwork for me. I mentioned that I needed to increase my water intake and just said no. Basically without asking how much I drink a day. I'm drinking at least 33.8 ounces before each meal to move the last meal out of the way. I understand what he's saying here about the brain and liver with three cups within an hour. But if someone eats 2500-3600 calories of a vegan diet this thinking becomes irrelevant because of consuming well over 100% of the USRDA of sodium/potassium intake. It's just a safe baseline for the average what he's saying. I just heard this guy talking about drinking 3-4 gallons of water a day and he was loosing 10 lbs a month. Personally my best is about a gallon a day. I'm going to up it to about 150 ounces a day if I can. cronometer.com says I average potassium at 625% a day, sodium 37%........I'm kind of in the middle of understanding what I think about sodium intake. All I know is it seems better to cut out salt and just consume sodium from fruits/veggies/potatoes. Every time I have added salt my eyes get puffy and I get slight odd pains.
Increasing water intake leads to loss of electrolytes which makes you lose water weight. It has nothing to do with increased metabolism. After overdrinking water for a long time, your body may actually start to hold more water because its used to you wasting all those electrolytes the body needs.
The closed captions work pretty well, also you can read transcripts of all his videos on his website: nutritionfacts.org/video/optimizing-water-intake-to-lose-weight/
Maybe plain water gives you the best weight loss because drinking plain water you lose minerals and after losing minerals the body gets rid of more water. You lost weight in form of water.?
Very COOL!!! Definitely doing this on a daily basis from now on.......they sell Evian bottles in 16.9 oz sizes.......six packs.....so, just need to buy 4 of them each week..... : D
Dr. Greger, I am really mad at you and I am not unsubscribing until I tell you why.. As an 8 year vegan I have no alterior motive in criticizing you and the validity of your earlier videos on HRT. You so badly reported the WHI studies on HRT that your credibility henceforth is greatly diminished. You just don't understand how to tease out RCT results and therefore you can easily harm people like women who you scared off of getting estrogen deficiency treated at menopause through HRT.
@@darkpatches the worst part about this besides not updating/correcting his bad "reporting" is that women could have delayed treatment because of his videos and now be outside the five to ten year estrogen safety window since the onset of their menopause for HRT leaving them at an increased risk of osteoporosis, heart attack and Alzheimer's which in fact is directly due to estrogen deficiency during menopause. It's outrageous. After ten years of menopause and over 60 years of age the risks outweigh benefits therefore it could be too late to start HRT. Estrogen deficiency leads to death from heart attack - 1 in 2 woman die of it which is more than all the other reasons for death combined. And no a vegan diet won't prevent hardening of the arteries in the complete absence of estrogen at menopause. Greger you are a disgrace!
